2012 photographic competition now open
The Bureau of Meteorology and the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society seek your quality colour pictures for inclusion in the annual Australian Weather Calendar. The competition for the 2012 calendar opened on 1 July 2010 and will close on 31 March 2011.
Entries must be:
•of a meteorological theme, such as clouds, thunderstorms, lightning, rainbows, or tornadoes.
•provided initially as photographic prints, at a minimum size of 15 x 10 cm
•a minimum of 5MB uncompressed (about 1700 x 1150 pixels) if in the digital format. 5 MB pictures are produced by 2 megapixel cameras.
•up to a maximum number of 10 per person.
•accompanied by a completed entry form that includes details of any and all digital alteration to the images.
•sent to the bureau in their original format (negative, transparency or digital file) if the picture is shortlisted. Negatives and transparencies will be returned by registered post.

Winning photographers are awarded three complimentary calendars. No prizemoney is offered. All rights associated with the images are retained by the photographer.
