Draw, paint, collage, or mash-up - you decide - then do it yourself! Original artworks only will be displayed in the e-gallery.

Suggested themes for each level:
Level 1 - draw something you love to do with your family
Level 2 - draw you and your friends participating in the Summer Reading Club
Levels 3 & 4 - create your own whacky invention or design - think Steampunk, dog-walking machine, mechanical bat

Level 1 e-gallery entries are in the draw to win a book pack thanks to Walker Books or Allen & Unwin.

Levels 2, 3 and 4 entries are in the draw to win a DMAG subscription. (Terms and conditions apply.)


1. Entry is open to Queensland residents only. Staff and volunteers of the Library Board of Queensland, the State Library of Queensland or their partners and children will not be eligible to enter.
2. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
3. The judges' decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding on each person who enters.
4. No correspondence will be entered into.
5. Winners will be notified by email or telephone and their first name and city/town will be published on the Summer Reading Club website by 21/02/2011.
6. To be eligible for prizes, contestants must ensure correct contact details of a first name, telephone number and or email address are provided on the entries.
7. All competitions commence at 12:00 AM Australian eastern standard time on 11/12/2010 and close at 12:00 PM Australian standard eastern time on 24/01/2011.
8. State Library of Queensland reserves the right to publish first names and ages of the winners for promotional purposes.
9. State Library of Queensland will not be liable for any loss or damage arising, or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any of the prizes.
10. If, for any reason, these competitions are not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the State Library of Queensland, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the State Library of Queensland reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. The State Library of Queensland assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries.
11. Competition rules and regulations may vary according to the competition and prizes.

Registration local public library or online

1. Competition is open to all children between the ages of 0 – 16 years at the time of entry.
2. Entrants must be registered with the Summer Reading Club at their local public library or online via the website.
3. All level 1 registered participants will go into the draw to receive a picture book thanks to The Book House. All registered participants from Level 2, 3 & 4 will win one of three iPods thanks to Encyclopædia Britannica.
4. Winners will be randomly selected by the State Library of Queensland.

1. Competition is open to parents and carers who have children in participating in Summer Reading Club and all children between the ages of 0 – 16 years at the time of entry.
2. Parents and carers go into the draw to win a copy of Good Reading magazine. 
3. Level 1 entries go into the draw to win a book pack from Allen & Unwin or Walker Books.
4. Level 2, 3 & 4 entries go into the draw to win a 6 month DMAG subscription. 
5. Winners will be randomly selected by the State Library of Queensland from all comments submissions and returned evaluation forms received.

Library Evaluation/Feedback

1. Competition is open to all Queensland Public Library staff whose branch is registered as apart of Summer Reading Club, and who submit a completed Library evaluation form.
2. Winners will receive a mystery prize. 
3. Winners will be randomly selected by the State Library of Queensland.

Picture this!

1. Competition is open to all Queensland residents.
2. All entries must include:
 your name, age, address, and library, and the number of the image you are writing or drawing about.   
3. All participants will go into the draw to win a double movie pass from Paramount.
4. The winners will be entries randomly selected by the State Library of Queensland.

Whacky fairy tales

1. Competition is open to all children between the ages of 0 – 16 years at the time of entry.
2. All Whacky fairy tale entries will go into the draw to win a double movie pass from Paramount.  The two winning entries will be randomly selected by the State Library of Queensland.
