A "SILLY" suggestion from his son ended up being the inspiration for a photo taken by Greg Powell of Valentine.

Greg snapped the photograph of his son Hamish at Mount Stirling in the Victorian Alps while on a family holiday.

Hamish suggested the idea of hanging upside down while reading the paper with Mount Buller in the background

After some fierce rounds of voting, Greg's photo was crowned The Star on Holidays' competition winner for 2010.

Greg said he would keep his eye out for another good shot during the year, to enter the 2011 The Star on Holidays competition.

You can also enter this summer's competition and have a chance to win a fabulous getaway to Shoal Bay Resort and Spa.

So, whether you are going overseas, travelling around Australia, playing in the region or hanging out in your own backyard, don't forget to take The Star with you.

Then snap a shot of you and The Star on location and send it to us.

The photographs can be digital (but must be a high resolution with a minimum size of 1MB or 300 dpi) or on film.

They can be sent by email, mail or dropped in to the office.

Each photograph must have your name, age (if the photographer is under 18 years old), holiday location, home address and daytime phone number.

Entries close Friday, January 28 at 5pm.

Then each week for the next month four of the best entries will be selected and printed in The Star for readers to vote.

In the March 9 edition, the finalist from each week will be reprinted for the final vote to see which one is the best and the winner.
