The first installment of The Night Chronicles; a series of terrifying stories conceived by M. Night Shyamalan produced into movies in collaboration with up-and-coming filmmakers Devil is a slice old school suspense horror that starts in Philadelphia as five strangers begin their day as normal. They walk into an office tower and enter an elevator. But what appears to be a random occurrence is anything but coincidental when the elevator breaks down. Fate has come calling and each one has a secret and today their secrets will be revealed, not without devastating consequences. As the police and security scramble to rescue them, terrible things begin to happen, slowly and methodically, one by one. With no way to escape, the horrific truth dawns that things happen for a reason.
Over the past two decades Indian born M.Night Shyamalan has risen to the top of the supernatural horror genre through his creative ability to write, direct and produce movies that never fail to shock and thrill in equal measure.
Shyamalan gained international recognition when he wrote and directed 1999′s The Sixth Sense, which was a nominated for six Academy Awards, including: Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay and in best Alfred Hitchcock fashion likes to make cameo appearances in his own movies. Not one to rest on his laurels M. Night followed up The Sixth Sense with some truly excellent movies and concepts with the likes of Unbreakable (again with Bruce Willis), the incredible The Village and Lady in the Water to name just a few.
