"PUNDAMONIUMâ COMPETITIONAfter Lindsay Webbâs massive success at The Adelaide Fringe Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival he returns to the Sit Down Comedy Club to perform his solo festival comedy show.
Lindsayâs' new show âPundamoniumâ is his most ambitious comedy show ever. A history and deconstruction of the age old pun. All the way from dad joke puns to some of the wittiest and quickest pun rapport.
Lindsay had an amazing 2010. The year started with a bang off the back of setting a Guinness World Record for âLongest Stand Up Show by an Individualâ (38hrs 15min) in October 2009. He was all over the place, Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne Comedy Festival (doing corporate shows for Optus Aust.), hosted the QLD Premiers âComedy Fixâ at Southbank Piazza for more than 2000 people, Indianapolis Fringe Festival USA, support act for Wil Anderson Brisbane Season, Headline Act at the Cairns Buskers Festival as well as tours to Adelaide, Sydney, FN Queensland and working on the local circuit when in Brisbane. 2011 is proving to be no different with a jam packed festival schedule and a stack of MC-ing and headlining gigs.
This is Lindsay fifth solo festival show. Last year his show âHurry Up Jesus!â became the 5th most popular show out of 700 shows at the Adelaide Fringe, as voted by the people at talkfringe.com.au. The show was then invited to be a part of the Indianapolis Fringe (Indyfringe) in America. âHurry Up Jesus!â was voted âMust See Show at the Fringe!â fending off the other 48 shows for the top gong. The show was an absolute success in America and Lindsay looks forward to returning there next year.
After launching âPundamoniumâ at the Sit Down Comedy Club during November & December 2010, Lindsay took the show to the Adelaide Fringe Festival. The show was extremely popular with the second week selling out, as well as the show being very well received by audience and peer comedians.
Lindsay has also just performed the show for a month at the 25th Melbourne International Comedy Festival. The show has been given not one but two 4 STAR reviews. Here are some of the things that the critics have been saying.
âHe doesnât make you want to like him; he makes you want to love him.â
