Based on the best-selling novel by Tatiana de Rosnay, the touching, gripping and beautifully told drama Sarah’s Key – featuring Kristin Scott Thomas – is now out on DVD.

Paris 1942: The Starzynski family – Wladyslaw, Rywka, 10-year-old Sarah and little Michel – live in the Jewish quarter. One day there is a sharp pounding on the door, and a group of French policemen announce their intention to take the family away. The resourceful Sarah locks Michel in a cupboard, making him promise not to try and escape.

Paris present day: Julia Jarmond (Scott Thomas) is an American journalist living in the French capital with her husband Bertrand and their daughter. While Bertrand prepares to renovate the Parisian apartment his grandparents own, Julia is researching for a story about the notorious Vel’ d’Hiv roundups of 1942. On learning that Bertrand’s family acquired the apartment during the war, Julia’s inquisitive nature forces her to uncover the truth.
