C O M P E T I T I O N â
By entering the âSplendour In The Grass Sideshow Competitionâ competition, you are agreeing to the
following terms and conditions:
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 Information on how to enter this competition forms part of the terms of entry.
1.2 The competition commences on Friday, 24th June 2011 at 16:00 AEDT and concludes Sunday,
3rd July 2011 at 23:59 AEDT (the âPromotion Periodâ)
1.3 The competition will be advertised on Network TEN and
www.videohits.com.au.
2. ENTRY ELIGIBILITY
2.1 Entry is open to all residents of Australia over 18 years of age at time of entry.
2.2 Employees and their immediate families of Network Ten Pty Ltd, and their associated
agencies and companies associated with the Promotion are not eligible to enter.
2.3 Entrants are required to register and log into
www.ten.com.au or
www.videohits.com.au in
order to submit their entry. Viewers may register to become a member of TEN via the website.
It is free to become a member. These Terms and Conditions apply in conjunction with the TEN
Members rules.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 Entrants will required to submit their details including (but not limited to) full name, full
address, phone number, email address and date of birth.
3.2 To enter, participants will be required to sign into
www.videohits.com.au and tell us in 25
words or less why theyâre the person to take Foster the People on this tourist adventure?
3.3 A limit of one online entry per day is permitted and all entries must be received within the
Promotion Period.
3.4 The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries including entries
not received by the Promoter or delays in the delivery of the entry due to technical
disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.
3.5 All entries must be free from copyright and must the the entrants own and orginal work.
Network Ten Pty Ltd and the prize sponsor is not held liable should the entrant be engaged in
such activities.
3.6 Incomplete or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid.
4. GRAND PRIZE DETAILS
The Grand Prize comprises;
o Return flights from anywhere in Australia
o 3 nightâs accommodation at the Vibe Hotel
o Double passes to Splendour In The Grass Sideshows for Pulp, The Hives and Foster the People
o Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb for you and friend with Foster the People
Total prize pool: valued up to $4,840.00
4.1 If for any reason any element of the prize becomes unavailable for any reason, which is out
of the Promoters control then a similar prize to equal value, will be awarded in lieu.
4.2 Flights leave from the winnerâs nearest capital city in NSW, VIC, SA, QLD or WA (Flight
Departure Capital City). The winner and their travelling companion must travel on the same
flight from flight departure capital city. If the winner is from Tasmania, ACT or Northern
Territory, connecting flights from the capital cities in these states to the nearest Flight
Departure Capital City are not included in the prize package for the winner and travelling
companion. If the Grand prize winner and companion are from a regional area, travel
arrangements to and from the nearest Flight Departure Capital City airport do not form part
of the prize and are the responsibility of the winner and their travel companion.
4.3 The Grand prize winner and their companion must travel together on the same flights and
stay in their allocated accommodation.
4.4 The Grand prize winner and their companion may not use âFrequent Flyerâ points from any
airline on the travel prize and cannot upgrade any travel prize using âFrequent Flyerâ points.
4.5 The Sydney Bridge Climb is subject to its own terms and conditions. It is advised that you read
and agree to these terms of use before accepting on the day.
4.6 Should the winner and their chosen campanion not be in the right frame of mind as deemed
by the promoter, the winner will be asked not to attend the Sydney Bridge Climb and/or
attend any of the Splendour In The Grass Sideshows and may be asked to forfeit this element
of the prize.
4.7 In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize
at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the
winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.
4.8 The winners and their companions agree they will not sell or otherwise provide their story
and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.
4.9 The Sydney Bridge Climb with Foster The People is subject to artist availability.
4.10 The winner and their campanion are to attend the Splendour In The Grass Sideshows at their
own risk and is also to adhere to the festivalâs own conditions of entry.
4.11 Should the winner and their companions engage in any illegal activity, Network TEN and their
associated sponsors are not held responsible.
4.12 It is the responsibility of the winner and their chosen companion to arrange their own transfers
to and from the event.
4.13 The winner and their chosen companion may be asked to provide credit card details to enter
the event grounds and Vibe City Hotels for identification purposes.
4.14 The winners must be available for the following dates:
o Pulp: 27th July 2011
o The Hives: 28th July 2011
o The Foster People: 29th July 2011
5. PRIZE DRAW
5.1 Each valid entrant who has entered the competition over the duration of the Promotional
Period will be entered into the draw.
5.2 Winner is drawn on Monday, 4th July at 11:30 AM at Network Ten Pty Ltd, 1 Saunders Street,
Pyrmont NSW 2009
5.3 This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner.
5.4 The most creative and original entries as judged by the promoter will be selected as the
winner.
5.5 The winner will be notified of their prize in writing and or phone call within 2 days of the draw.
5.6 The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, proof of
residency at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity (including
phone) in order to claim a prize. Proof of identification, residency and entry considered
suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner cannot
provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be
offered.
5.7 Should an entrantâs contact details change during the Promotion Period, it is the entrant's
responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided
in an entry should be directed to Promoter.
5.8 The Promoterâs decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence
regarding the competition result.
6. STANDARD TERMS
6.1 The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry
which, in the opinion of Promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially
insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any entrant who tampers with
the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms &
Conditions of Entry or who has, in the opinion of Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering
the Promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the
goodwill or reputation of the Promotion and/or Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to
disqualify a winner if Promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winnerâs entry are
of a type described in this clause.
6.2 It is a condition of accepting the Grand Prize that the winner must comply with all the
conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplierâs requirements. It is also a condition of
accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form
determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion
6.3 Network Ten Pty Ltd and the prize sponsor advises that the winners seek their own tax advice
and be responsible for reporting any monies earned to the Australian Taxation Office.
6.4 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or
significantly hinders the Promoterâs ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and
in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to
vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act
of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and
recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any written directions given
under State Regulation.
6.5 Network Ten Pty Ltd and the prize sponsor shall not be liable for any loss or damage
whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for
any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability
which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter and its sponsor is not responsible for any
incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the phone user or for any of the
equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical
error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this
competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or
transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or
destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
6.6 The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the
Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any
unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct
of the promotion. The Promoterâs legal rights to recover damages or other compensation
from such an offender are reserved
6.7 Network Ten Pty Ltd, their associated agencies and , companies and sponsor assume no
responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or
transmission; communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or
alteration of entries, and reserve the right to take any action that may be available.
6.8 If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to
infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical
failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the
administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter
reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry
process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend
the competition, subject to any written direction given under State Regulation.
6.9 All entries become the property of The Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information
about you to enable you to participate in this promotion but no further use of this information
will be made without prior consent
6.10 Entrants may choose opt-in to receive further information from the Promoter, and their
associated agencies and companies if they check the appropriate check box on the
competition form. All opt-in entries will be entered into a database and The Promoter may
use the entrantâs names, addresses and telephone numbers for future promotional, marketing
and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being
paid unless otherwise advised by the entrant. By opting-in, entrants confirm that they allow
their details to be used for this purpose. If entrants no longer consent to their details being
used for future marketing purposes, the entrant should contact The Promoter on their details
set out below. Any request to update, modify or delete the entrantâs details should be
directed to The Promoter.
6.11 Entrantsâ personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments
and winnersâ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. A request to
access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter.
