Terms and Conditions
1. This competition is a promotion run by The Road Ahead Publishing Co Pty Ltd ABN 72 009 716 465 (“Promoter”).
2. Entries and information on prizes and how to enter form part of these terms and conditions (“Terms”). Entries not completed in accordance with these Terms are ineligible. Participation in this competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
3. The competition is open to residents of Queensland over the age of 18 years of age only, who are current RACQ members when the competition is drawn.
4. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and related entities of the Promoter are ineligible to enter.
5. The competition commences at 8.30am Thursday July 1, 2011 and closes 5pm Friday, July 29, 2011.
6. The competition will involve an elimination round and then a final draw. 30 entrants will be randomly selected for the final draw from each method of entry (SMS and post) in proportion to the number of entrants for each entry method. The winners will then be drawn from those 30 entrants in the final draw.
7. The first stage of the competition will be drawn at 10.00am on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at the offices of The Road Ahead, 300 St Paul’s Terrace, FORTITUDE VALLEY and Oxygen 8 Communications, Suite 156, Life Style Working, 117 Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale, NSW 2100. The final stage of the competition will be drawn at the offices of The Road Ahead, 300 St Paul’s Terrace, FORTITUDE VALLEY at 3pm on Tuesday, August 2, 2011.
8. There will be two (2) prize winners in this competition that will be chosen at random from all eligible entries received. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9. Entrants may enter the competition as many times as they like, however, only one prize will be awarded to the winner regardless of the number of times their entries are drawn.
10. Entry is by: writing your name, address, and RACQ membership number on the back of an envelope and posting it to Jupiters Competition, PO Box 843, Spring Hill, Qld, 4004 or by SMSing the code word JUPITERS along with your name, RACQ membership number to 1999 RACQ (1999 7227), SMS entries charged at $0.55 incl. GST.
11. The prize winners will each receive a Jupiters Hotel escape for two people, including two nights in an Executive Room at Jupiters Hotel, Broadbeach Island, Gold Coast, breakfast for two in Food Fantasy and a $100 Dinner Voucher at Andiamo to be used during your visit, valued at $430 each.
12. The total prize value is $860. Any change in the value of the prize between the publishing date and the date that the prizes are claimed is not the responsibility of the Promoter. Prize is valid until December 23rd, 2011.
13. Spending money, additional meals, taxes, additional insurance, transport to and from departure point, transfers, items of a personal nature (including but not limited to additional room charges such as pay per view movies, mini-bar, laundry, room service, telephone calls), any upgrades or additional nights and all other ancillary costs are not included and are the responsibility of the winners.
14. If for any reason a prize winner does not take the prize or an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the prize or that element of the prize will not be redeemable for cash.
15. If the prize (or part of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification.
16. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
17. Travel, insurance, upgrades, extra person surcharges, spending money, food, beverages, incidental expenses and all other ancillary costs are the winner’s responsibility.
18. The prize is subject to booking availability and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
19. The prize winners will be notified on the phone number or mail address they use to enter the competition. Competition results will also be published on racq.com two weeks after the final draw. The prizes will be posted or couriered to the winner as appropriate within a month of the competition being drawn.
20. If a competition winner is unable to be contacted within three (3) weeks of the draw a redraw will occur. In the event that a redraw is required it will be held at 9am on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the offices of The Road Ahead, 300 St Paul’s Terrace, FORTITUDE VALLEY and the redraw winner will be notified by mail or by telephone.
21. All entries become the property of the Promoter. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries.
22. The information that entrants provide will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting the competition, and to periodically keep entrants informed about the goods and services provided by the Promoter, related entities and its service providers. By entering this competition entrants consent to the use of their contact details for the purposes described in this clause. The Promoter may use or disclose entrant’s personal information to related entities or other appropriate third parties in accordance with its privacy policy.
23. If for any reason this competition is not capable of being conducted by the Promoter as intended, whether because of computer virus, mobile phone failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter which in the Promoter’s opinion affects the administration of the competition, security, fairness or integrity, the Promoter may in its sole discretion, cancel, modify or suspend the competition, subject to the approval of the gaming authority in Queensland as may be required.
24. The Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage or for any
personal injury sustained as a result of taking the prize
or entering
into this competition. The Promoter makes no representations or
warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability or any goods
or services offered as prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the
Promoter is not liable for any loss suffered to person or property by
reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the Promoter
or its employees or agents, in connection with the arrangement for the
supply, or the supply, of goods and services by any person to the prize
winners and, where applicable, to any persons accompanying the prize
winners.
