Academy Award ®- winning directors Joel and Ethan Coen (No Country For Old Men) bring their adaptation of Charles Portis’s classic novel True Grit to DVD and Triple Play (DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Copy) from June 9th.
Jeff Bridges stars as Rooster Cogburn, an irascible US Marshall, who is sought out by the fourteen year old Mattie Ross to hunt down the drifter Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin), the man who killed her father and who is now apparently part of the outlaw gang led by the infamous Lucky Ned Pepper, and bring him to justice. Cogburn and Ross team up with an overzealous Texas Ranger called LeBoeuf (Matt Damon) who has himself been tracking Chaney for the murder of a Texas Senator.
The gritty and memorable film has been embraced by audiences and critics alike, nominated for 10 Academy Awards and named by more than 75 reviewers as one of the top 10 films of the year.
The True Grit Triple Play includes over an hour of extensive behind the scenes featurettes exploring the cast and cinematography of the film, the period costumes & guns, and fascinating portrait of the brilliant but reclusive novelist Charles Portis.
