Drama meets soap opera in this distinctly non-medical hospital-set series, which charts the work life of new surgical registrar Dr. Caroline Todd (Tamsin Greig: Black Books, Shaun of the Dead) from her first day on the job. Scruffy and a bit on the nose after spending the night in her car, Dr. Todd starts to acquaint herself with her work colleagues, among them the charming anaethetist Guy Secretan (Stephen Mangan: Someone Else, Hyperdrive), the debonair Dr. ‘Mac' Macartney (Julian Rhind-Tutt: Lara Croft - Tomb Raider), and Dr. Alan Statham (Mark Heap), a kinky radiologist who has a habit of thinking out loud and who unashamedly fantasises about temperamental HR director Joanna Clore (Pippa Heywood: Office Gossip).
