TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR THE SURF & WIN 2012 ONLINE CONTEST

1. Participants must be 18 years of age or above to participate in the contest.

2. This contest is open to both overseas contestants (non-Singaporeans residing outside of Singapore) and Singapore residents who are fans of Singapore Turf Club Facebook fan page (http://www.facebook.com/SGTurfClub), except Singapore Turf Club employee (permanent and casual).

3. This contest will run from 28 March 2012 to 20 April 2012, 2pm (GMT + .

4. Only participants who answer the question correctly in the Surf & Win 2012 Online Contest will be eligible for the lucky draw.

5. The contest prizes are as follow:
Overseas Prizes:
Three winners will each receive a pair of return economy class air tickets to Singapore with 3 days 2 nights hotel accommodation for two people (19-21 May 2012), plus a pair of exclusive packages to the Singapore Airlines International Cup (worth up to S$15,000 depending on the location of the winners)

Local Prizes:
Top Prize:
S$500 cash plus a pair of exclusive packages to the Singapore Airlines International Cup (worth S$330)

2nd Prize:
S$200 cash plus a pair of exclusive packages to the Singapore Airlines International Cup (worth S$330)

3rd Prize:
S$100 cash plus a pair of exclusive packages to the Singapore Airlines International Cup (worth S$330)

7 Consolation Prizes:
A pair of tickets to the Singapore Airlines International Cup (worth $116)

All winners will also receive the limited edition SIA Cup Memorabilia Pack.

6. Entries are considered valid when all the fields are completed.

7. All winners would be notified by phone and/or email by 4 May 2012. The names of the winners will be published on the Singapore Turf Club Facebook fan page and/or corporate website on 11 May 2012.

8. All overseas winners will have to be able to travel to Singapore from 19 - 21 May 2012 (Note: the Singapore Airlines International Cup takes place on 20 May 2012). In the event the drawn winner cannot fulfill this, the Singapore Turf Club reserves the right to get the subsequent lucky draw winner in his/her place.

9. The Singapore Turf Club may, at its sole and absolute discretion, declare any entry void if in its opinion the information given by the participants is in any way unclear, uncertain, cannot be properly deciphered or foul play is suspected. The Singapore Turf Club reserves the right to draw a subsequent winner in his/her place.

10. To redeem the prizes, the winner must present his/her identification card number or passport bearing the name and number corresponding to the information given on the website. The Singapore Turf Club may, at its sole and absolute discretion, declare any entry void if the winner fails to produce such proper identification documents.

11. Prizes are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash. Prizes are subject to change without prior notice. All prizes must be collected within 2 months from the date of announcement of winners. Unclaimed cash prizes will be donated to charity.

12. Winner agrees not to hold Singapore Turf Club’s respective directors, officers, employees and assignee, liable for all claims arising from the prizes.

13. Winner's name, pictures and prizes may be used for publicity reasons. Winner’s information may be used for marketing, planning, promotions, research, events and/or any other purposes and programs henceforth. Acceptance of the prize is considered as consent to this usage.

14. Singapore Turf Club reserves the right to change the terms and conditions herein without prior notice. In case of dispute, the decision of the Singapore Turf Club shall be final.

I think they probably just want to make sure that the winner will be able to take the prize, being that the flights are only a month after the close of comp.  Still, it does seem a bit too much info to request.  They should put in a clause such as you have to have held a valid passport for 6 months+ prior to the end of the competition, although clauses like that annoy me, too!  I don't currently have a valid passport, but then again, that's why I haven't entered this comp, as I doubt I'd have the time to get one issued prior to the date the prize has to be taken!
