YOU TRAVEL, and you've taken photos...
This European photo contest is a project of worldatlas.com. It is designed to encourage (you) to freely share photos from your European travels (past or present) and possibly win a cash prize.
For this contest we will (only) accept travel photos from a European destination, and please remember, we are a family friendly environment, so photos that violate those conditions will be removed.
Photo Contest began May 24 and ends June 24, 2012.
This photo contest, sponsored by worldatlas.com, pays $500 to the winner, $300 for second place and $150 for third place.
Prizes will be paid by check, PayPal or Western Union.
All entries will be judged by two well-traveled photographers from the staff of worldatlas.com, and one professional journalist/photographer.
To enter this contest please follow the graphic link shown directly below. Once on your selected European destination (country) page, look for the same graphic link near the top of that page, and share your photo(s).
A few important notes...
The judges will be looking for inspiring landscapes, sunsets and sunrises, interesting city views and colorful travel shots from across Europe. Don't hesitate to share animal and up-close nature shots, but avoid submitting pictures of local children without the permission of their parents, unless the (faces) of the children are not clearly identifiable in the frame.
The judges have also indicated that photos showing (as an example) personal family or travel groups standing in front of a famous landmark like St. Peters Basilica in Rome, or the Eiffel Tower in Paris have no chance of winning.
The judges will be depending on the civility and honesty of the submitters, as they ask for non-professional photos only.
During the run of the thirty-day European photo contest you can submit as many photos as you like.
If you personally don't have any European photos to share, we will accept photos from your family members or friends that have traveled to Europe.
Please don't include photos from Russia, or Turkey, as they will be part of the Asia photo contest, to be posted later this year.
At the end of the competition, all photos submitted will remain on their specific European destination pages, however, photos submitted (will not be used) by worldatlas.com for any other application, unless we request such usage from the copyright holder in writing.
Note that in the months to come we will be offering similar photo contests for other geographical destinations, with the USA the next in line.
And finally, if you don’t have a picture to share, well, don’t let that stop you from enjoying and commenting on submitted photos, so just follow the graphic link below and pick the European country of choice.
