One little number could be the key to hundreds of dollars worth of groceries in the Mercury and Sunday Tasmanian's $40,000 Great Grocery Giveaway.

Each day from Monday June 25 to Sunday July 22, 2012, 10 lucky readers will have the chance to win a voucher worth between $50 and $1000.

A unique number will be printed on the front of each paper with 10 of those numbers appearing inside the following day's paper. If your number appears, you're a winner!

There are 280 Coles/Myer vouchers on offer, which can be used at Coles, Myer, Kmart or Target.

Terms & Conditions

1. The promoter is Davies Brothers Pty Limited ABN: 37 009 475 754 (publishers of the Mercury and Sunday Tasmanian), 91-93 Macquarie St, Hobart, Tas, 7000.

2. Entrants accept these terms and conditions as set out below.

3. The promoter's decision in respect of any matter is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

4. The Mercury is offering a number of prizes with a total value of $40,000 ($10,000 per week available to be won over the four-week promotion) commencing on Monday, June 25, 2012, and finishing on Sunday July 22, 2012.

5. For the four-week promotion, there are 280 prizes available to be won, with a total prize value of $40,000 in Coles/Myer vouchers. The prizes are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
The promotion commences on Monday, June 25, 2012, and will run daily until Monday, July 23, 2012. The Mercury will run a unique lucky number on the front page of every newspaper (Monday 25 June – Sunday, 22 July 2012). On Tuesday, 26 June, and each day after that, the Mercury will publish 10 lucky numbers and state the prize that lucky number has won. If a reader has the daily newspaper with one of the 10 lucky numbers on it, the reader needs to ring (03) 6230 0797 to confirm they hold the number and confirm their prize.
You have three (3) days after publication of the Lucky Number to claim your prize before it expires. The (03) 6230 0797 telephone line will be open between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. If you have a winning number on either Saturday or Sunday, please validate your prize on the following Monday.

6. The owner of the newspaper with the winning lucky number, will be required to bring in their winning newspaper to their nearest Mercury office at Hobart, Launceston or Burnie to validate their prize. If the owner of the newspaper is unable to access an office of the Mercury they will be required to take a photocopy of the front page of the newspaper ensuring it covers the date of the newspaper and the lucky number (this is for the winner's records – do not send us the copy, as photocopies are not valid entries) and send the original front page by either registered post or Express Post to the Mercury, 91-93 Macquarie St, Hobart, Tas, 7000. (Please Note: If you decide to send in the original front page not using registered mail or Express Post and it is not received by the Marketing Department, for any reason, it will be deemed to have been not produced and no prize will be payable).

7. All winners agree to have their photographs taken if required.

8. If your newspaper is missing a 'Lucky number' on the front page of the newspaper due to a printing error, please give it back to your local newsagent who will replace your newspaper with a copy that does have a 'Lucky number' printed on it.

9. Digital editions of the Mercury and Sunday Tasmanian newspapers will not be able to participate in the 'Great Grocery Giveaway', as we are not able to print a unique reference number on a digital edition. This competition is only valid for hard copy printed newspapers.

10. Employees or their immediate families (spouse whether married or de facto, siblings whether full or half blood, children including stepchildren, parents including step-parents) of Davies Brothers Pty Limited, newsagents or sub-agents are ineligible to enter.

11. Davies Brothers Pty Limited (DBPL) publisher of the Mercury and Sunday Tasmanian newspapers respects your right to privacy. The information being collected by DBPL is to include you in this competition and, at DBPL's discretion, publication of the details of the winning entries. No further use of the information is made.
