Between 12:01am on Monday, 23 July 2012 and 7:55pm on Thursday, 30 August 2012 spend $100 in cash or on your credit/debit card in one of The Star's owned and operated restaurants, hotels or Retail Arcade**, or sign up to Absolute Rewards, to receive a ticket. Seven tickets will reveal major prize draw entries.
There will be a second chance prize draw at 8pm Thursday, 30 August 2012, for the chance to win three further entries into the major prize draw. Eligible Entrants will have until 7:55pm on that day to place their entry coupon into the promotional barrel located at the main Absolute Rewards Desk (by the fish tanks) on the main gaming floor.
The major prize will be drawn on Thursday, 30 August 2012 at 9pm. The major prize contestant selected will have a 1 in 300 chance to win $5 million. Entrants must be present at the draws, with acceptable valid ID, for a chance to win the prize.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS “THE $5,000,000” PROMOTION
PROMOTIONAL PERIOD
1. The “The $5,000,000” promotion (“Promotion”) commences on Monday 9 July 2012 and ends on Thursday 30
August 2012.
2. The Promotion comprises of instant prizes (“Instant Prizes”) and a second chance prize draw (“Second
Chance Prize Draw”) which will be held on Thursday 30 August 2012 at 8.00pm and the major prize draw
(“Major Prize Draw”) which will be held on Thursday 30 August 2012 at 9.00pm.
3. The period during which participants in the Promotion have the chance to win entry coupons into the Second
Chance Draw and the Major Prize Draw commences at 12.01am Monday 23 July 2012 and ends at 7.55pm on
Thursday 30 August 2012 or until all Tickets have been given away
(“Promotional Period”).
ELIGIBILITY
4. Participation in the Promotion is limited to persons who are, insofar as is the case for the duration of the
Promotional Period:
a. 18 years of age or over;
b. reside in Australia;
c. not excluded from The Star
(“Eligible Entrants”).
5. Directors, management and employees of any of the ECHO ENTERTAINMENT GROUP of companies (including,
without limitation, The Star and Jupiters companies) and their immediate families are not eligible to
participate in the Promotion.
PARTICIPATION
6. Subject to clauses 7 and 8, Eligible Entrants will be entitled to receive one (1) ticket (“Ticket”) per invoice
when they:
spend $100 cash or on their card in one of The Star’s restaurant venues, retail stores or hotels; or
sign up as an Absolute Rewards Member
during the Promotional Period.
7. Eligible Entrants will not be entitled to receive Tickets for the Promotion in conjunction with any other offer,
discount, voucher, ‘comp’ or member’s benefit or privilege.
8. The Ticket is either an instant prize, an entry into the Major Prize Draw in form of a Golden Ticket or an entry
into the Second Chance Draw.
9. To enter the Second Chance Prize Draw, Eligible Entrants must complete all details required on the entry
coupon and place it in the barrel (“Barrel”) located at the main Absolute Rewards Desk before the Second
Chance Prize Draw during the Promotional Period as per clause 3. The Second Chance Prize Draw Barrel will
only be open until 7.55pm on Thursday 30 August 2012.
10. To enter the Major Prize Draw, Eligible Entrants must contact the person from Star Marketing whose details
are on the Golden Ticket by 5pm on Wednesday 29 August 2012 via phone or email to register their details
and the Golden Ticket number for the Major Prize Draw.
11. The Promoter reserves the right, at his or her sole and absolute discretion, to deem any irregular entries,
including the following entries, “Invalid Entries”:a. entries that have not been completed fully, correctly and legibly;
b. entries that appear to have been tampered with; and
c. entries that are invalid pursuant to the conditions of the permit authorising the Promotion.
PRIZE DRAWS
12. The Second Chance Prize Draw will take place at 24/7 Sports Bar at 8.00pm on Thursday 30 August 2012.
13. The Promoter will review the drawn Entry in the Second Chance Prize Draw to confirm that it is not an Invalid
Entry (“Valid Entry”). If an Entry is an Invalid Entry, a further Entry will be drawn and reviewed in the same
manner. The Second Chance Prize Draw ends when 3 Valid Entries are identified. Should, however, not all 10
Golden Tickets be revealed via instant win or after the Second Chance Prize Draw, the Prize Draw will continue
until all 10 Golden Tickets have been allocated.
14. The three Eligible Entrants whose names are on the Valid Entries identified in the Second Chance Prize Draw
will receive a Golden Ticket. Eligible Entrants need to be present at the Second Chance Prize Draw to win the
Prize.
15. The Promoter will announce the Second Chance Prize Winners’ names at 24/7 Sports Bar at the time of the
Second Chance Prize Draw. The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to notify the Second Chance Prize
Winners of the result of the Second Chance Prize Draw by announcement.
16. To be eligible to win the Second Chance Prize Draw, the Eligible Entrants must present themselves at the area
marked “Presentation Point” at the Second Chance Prize Draw location to the representative of the Promoter
within four (4) minutes of their names being announced (“Presentation Period”). The Presentation Period is
timed according to the count down displayed above the Prize Draw location.
17. Each Eligible Entrant who satisfies clause 16 must then satisfy the identification requirements set out in
clauses 22 and 23 (“Identification Requirements”) within a further four (4) minute period, commencing at the
end of the Presentation Period.
18. If the Drawn Entry for the Second Chance Prize Draw is invalid or does not result in the selection of a Prize
Winner, the Prize Draw will continue with redraws until these terms and conditions are satisfied and a valid
Prize Winner is found.
19. The Major Prize Draw will take place at 24/7 Sports bar at 9.00pm on Thursday 30 August 2012.
20. Each of the 10 Golden Ticket holders who is identified pursuant to clauses 22 and 23 is a major prize
contestant (“Major Prize Contestant”).
21. As part of the Major Prize promotion mechanic, there will be ten (10) LCD Screens at 24/7 Sports bar with one
(1) button each. The Major Prize Contestants are allocated their LCD screen in order sequence of their Golden
Ticket number. All Major Prize Contestants will press their button simultaneously to reveal a prize. One LCD
screen will reveal the chance to try to unlock the door to the Major Prize, a $5,000,000 cheque, and the other
9 screens will reveal dinners for 2 at a Star-owned restaurant of choice. The Major Prize Contestant who wins
the chance to try and unlock the door to the $5,000,000 cheque will then choose one (1) key from a barrel
that contains 300 keys of which one unlocks the door to the cheque. The Major Prize Contestant who chooses
the key from the barrel will have a 1 in 300 chance of winning $5,000,000. The Major Prize Draw ends when
this Major Prize Contestant has had their turn to unlock the door. Should they be unsuccessful in unlocking
the door, then they will receive $20,000 cash as their prize.
IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
22. To satisfy these Identification Requirements, an Eligible Entrant must:
a. Present themselves to the promotions host at the Prize Draw location;
b. Produce identification that is valid and acceptable to the Promoter (“Valid ID”)
Valid ID means:c. a passport, Australian driver’s license or other form of photographic identification in which the
photograph is clear and undamaged and that is otherwise acceptable to the Promoter; or
d. two forms of non-photographic identification that are valid and acceptable to the Promoter.
23. The Promoter may, at his or her sole and absolute discretion, waive or vary the Identification Requirements if
the identity of an Eligible Entrant is determinable without the measures set out in clause 22.

24. A total of 115,000 promotional tickets will be produced. The Prizes consist of the following:

PRIVACY
25. Once entered into the Promotion, Entries become the property of the Promoter. Subject to clause 27, the
Promoter may store in a database and use for marketing purposes information contained on any Entry.
26. Subject to clause 27, Eligible Entrants consent to the collection, storage and use of personal information
described in clause 25 by entering the Promotion. Eligible Entrants can find out how to access personal
information the Promoter holds about them by reading the Promoter’s privacy policy at
www.star.com.au or
by contacting the Promoter on 1800 700 700.
27. Clauses 25 and 26 do not apply insofar as an Eligible Entrant ticks a box on an Entry and thereby indicates that
they do not consent to the collection, storage and use of personal information described in clause 25. GENERAL
28. The total possible prize pool is $8,497,316.50 in value.
29. At the end of the lottery, all existing claims to prizes and entitlements will be met notwithstanding the
advertised prize pool has been exceeded, and that printing errors or other quality control matters outside the
control of individual players must not be used as the sole basis for refusing to award a prize.
30. The Star reserves the right to cancel or change the prizes offered under the Promotion if there are any
changes to the law that would or might render the Promotion or any prizes offered under the Promotion
unlawful.
31. Except as expressly provided in this document, no prize, entry or other feature of the Promotion can be
transferred or redeemed for other goods and services. For the avoidance of doubt, prizes in the Promotion are
cashiers cheques.
32. An independent Scrutineer or non-independent Scrutineer approved by the Office of Liquor, Gaming and
Racing will be present at the time of any draw, if required.
33. Conduct of the entire Promotion, including decisions on the eligibility of persons to enter and validity of entry
and prizes, shall be the responsibility of the Promoter. The Promoter’s decisions in relation to the conduct of
the Promotion are final.
34. To the extent that a situation or issue arises for which these terms and conditions make no provision or in
relation to which the relevant terms and conditions are unclear, The Star reserves the right to make a decision
regarding those circumstances which is not inconsistent with these terms and conditions.
35. The Promoter is not responsible for any loss, damage or injury suffered or claimed, including, but no limited
to, indirect or consequential loss or damage, personal injury or death, and direct or indirect loss or damage by
an entrant in relation to entering or participating in this Promotion or taking or using the prizes offered except
where that loss, damage or injury was caused by breach of these terms and conditions by the Promoter or the
wilful or negligent acts or omissions of the Promoter. To avoid any doubt the Promoter shall not be liable for
loss caused by technical and mechanical malfunction which is outside the control of the Promoter.
36. Participation in the Promotion by an Eligible Entrant confirms acceptance of the terms and conditions
governing the Promotion, including but not limited to the indemnity and exclusion clauses contained herein.
37. Should the Prize Winner consent to having his/her photograph taken, that Prize Winner consents to having
his/her name and photograph published in any form of media and agrees to participate in any reasonable
promotion requested by The Star.
38. Prize Winners will be published on
www.star.com.au on or about Friday 31 August 2012.
39. Without limiting clauses 16-18, 20 and 22, should any prize winners fail to claim their prizes, The Star will
make arrangements to dispose of the unclaimed prizes in accordance with Office of Liquor, Gaming and
Racing requirements.
40. All monetary values expressed in this document are expressed in Australian currency.
41. The laws of the state of New South Wales govern the Promotion.
42. The Promotion is authorised under NSW Permit No.LTPS/12/05650.
43. A copy of the terms and conditions governing the Promotion can be obtained from the main Absolute
Rewards Desk throughout the Promotional Period.
