THE opening night of South Pacific in Melbourne marks the 60th anniversary of the classic show’s first Australian performance.
The Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, set on a tropical island during World War II, is the story of romance threatened by the realities of war.
It stars Lisa McCune and Teddy Tahu Rhodes (pictured), Eddie Perfect and Kate Ceberano.
Leader has 12 double passes (each valued at $179.80) to the opening night on Thursday, September 13, at the Princess Theatre at 7.30pm, to give away.

1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these terms and conditions of entry.
2. The Promoter is Leader Associated Newspapers Pty Ltd, 1-7 Chapel Street Blackburn Victoria 3130. ABN: 34 004 337 446.
3. The promotion is known as the “Leader and South Pacific” promotion.
4. Entry is available to Victorian residents 18 years or over who reside within the Leader Newspapers distribution area. Employees of the Promoter or its associated companies, employees of any agencies, affiliates, sponsors, sub-sponsors or representatives of the Promoter and the immediate families of any such employees are not eligible to enter.
5. Only one entry permitted per person.
6. Leader Newspapers’ privacy policy is available by visiting

7. Promotion commences at 7.00am AEST on 13/08/2012 and finishes at 5.00pm AEST on 22/08/2012 (“promotion period”).
8. This promotion will be advertised in all Leader newspapers and online during the promotion period.
9. Consumers can enter via the following method:
a. Internet – Visit
www.leadernews.com.au and complete the online entry form. Online entry form will require name, address, contact numbers, email address details and the title of the entrant’s local Leader newspaper.
10. The promotion is one of a game of chance. All valid entries will form part of a random draw.
11. The first 12 valid entries drawn will each win a double pass to the South Pacific show, valid for two adults for the night of 13/09/2012 at 7.30pm at the Princess Theatre and valued at $AUD179.80 each.
12. Total prize pool value is $AUD2,157.60.
13. South Pacific will be held on Thursday 13/09/2012 at 7.30pm at the Princess Theatre, 163 Spring Street, Melbourne Victoria 3000. Leader Community Newspapers takes no responsibility for any changes to or cancellation of the event, including but not limited to event times, event date or venue changes.
14. All prizes are for the specified date and time of the event only. If winners (for whatever reason) are unable to travel or do not take the prizes within the time stipulated by the Promoter then the prize will be forfeited and cash will not be awarded in lieu of the prizes.
15. The prize draw will be held at 12.00pm AEST on 23/08/2012 at the office of Leader Community Newspapers Pty Ltd, 1-7 Chapel Street Blackburn Victoria 3130.
16. Winners will be contacted in writing within 7 days of the draw and winners will be published in Leader newspapers on week commencing 27/08/2012.
17. All prizes will be will be distributed by mail. The Promoter does not take responsibility for misdirected or lost mail or mail received late.
