Thanks to Roadshow Entertainment we have three DVD copies of the Patrick Troughton story, “The Krotons”, to be won. (check out my review).

So, do you want to win your very own copy? Here’s how…

“The Krotons” is a rather boring and obvious title for this story. Suggest an alternative title.

Email your response to givanoff@optusnet.com.au

You must be an Australian resident to enter, and you can only enter once. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence on the matter will be entered into. Got that? Good!

The competition closes at 5pm (Melb time) on Friday 21 September 2012, after which I will pass all the answers over to our guest judge, without the names of the entrants. She will then pick three winners. I will then contact the winners by email to get postal addresses. Please note that it must be an Australian postal address.

Now, let me introduce you to our guest judge, the membership secretary of the Doctor Who Club of Australia, Sarah Winwood.

Like many fans, Doctor Who provided me with much enjoyment and comfort in the evening with my family in front of the television. It also gave me much inspiration as to what games to play and how to deck out my cubby house. I started watching intently when I found out my childhood hero Worzel Gummidge was playing the role of the Doctor, and to this day Jon is my Doctor. With the regular DVD releases I am re-watching all the classic series and appreciating them more and more, and am still very much in awe of the first four doctors; particular Doctor number three.

I first heard about the Doctor Who Club of Australia from my younger sister who found them on the internet advertising an event, and we decided to attend. That was nearly six years ago and since then I have met lots of great people, including my other half, and even a few Doctor Who stars. No two Doctor Who fans are the same and everyone has a varied opinion about episodes, writers, Doctors and even costumes and set design. It is great to relax with people and share what you love and don’t love about this wonderful show; it is the ultimate form of escapism.

Doctor Who has a rich past and is evolving before our eyes. There is much to look forward to and even though next year marks the show’s fiftieth anniversary, in some ways it feels as though it is just the beginning. Happy times and much adventure ahead.

Thanks, Sarah.

So, once you’ve all entered the competition for a copy of “The Krotons”, why not check out the DWCA’s website.

And don’t forget to check out my review of “The Krotons”. Now… start writing those entries!

Catch ya later,  George
Go for it, give it a tweet!
