Win a Kenyan Safari Promotion - Terms and Conditions
Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Entry is open to Australian residents visiting the Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo, NSW during the Promotional Period. Directors of Taronga Conservation Society Australia, employees, volunteers and their immediate families of the Promoter (including spouse, parent, child or sibling whether or not they live in the same house) and printers, suppliers, providers and agencies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to participate in the Promotion.

PROMOTIONAL PERIOD: The promotion commences on Saturday 25 August 2012 at 09:00am (AEST) and concludes on Wednesday 31 October 2012 at 11:59pm (AEDST).
HOW TO ENTER: Entry is only available at Taronga Western Plain Zoo. To participate, you must purchase one (1) regular adult admission pass or one (1) eligible discounted admission pass to visit the Taronga Western Plain Zoo during the Promotion Period to receive one (1) entry form. Zoo Friends must visit the Taronga Western Plains Zoo circuit during the promotional period to receive one entry form. You must complete the entry form and submit into the entry box provided prior to entering the zoo. You must retain your proof of ticket purchase.
Entry is limited to one (1) person, per paid visit to the Taronga Western Plain Zoo during the Promotional Period. Multiple entries will be accepted providing each entry is associated with a unique ticket purchase.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for failure to complete the entry form at the time of entry.
THE DRAW: The draw will take place on Thursday 1 November 2012 at Taronga Western Plains Zoo,
Obley Road,
Dubbo, NSW 2830 10:00am (AEDST). The first valid entry drawn will be deemed the Winner - once the Promoter has validated all entries made by the Winner. The Winner will be contacted by phone, mail and details of validated Winners will be published in The Australian newspaper on Wednesday 7 November 2012.
PRIZE: There is one (1) prize only. The first valid entry drawn will receive two (2) international return economy flights with Etihad Airways to Nairobi, Kenya (departing from Sydney); airport transfers in Nairobi, 13-day Kenyan Safari including travel. Total prize pool is valued at up to $12,700.00 ($AUS). Prize values are subject to travel dates. The value of the prize is accurate as at the commencement of the Promotion. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prizes after this date.
It is a condition of accepting a prize that the Winner and their companion must comply with all the terms and conditions of use of a prize and prize supplier's requirements.
The Winner and their companion must be 18 years of age or older at the time of travel.
Failure to produce proof of ticket purchase for all entries when requested may, in the absolute discretion of the Promoter, deem all entries submitted by that entrant invalid, therefore rendering the entrant ineligible to receive a prize. All proof of purchase receipt(s) must be dated during the Promotional Period.
No responsibility will be taken for incomplete, late or lost entries.
The prize will be managed by the Promoter and associated agencies. Travel must be taken between 1 April 2013 – 30 June 2013 or 1 November 2013 – 23 November 2013. Travel must be completed by 23 November 2013. Further extensions will not be accepted. Some travel during peak season is excluded (including school or state specific public holidays, major sporting events or travel blackout periods). The Winner and their travelling companion must travel together on all flights. Accommodation is based on twin share only.
Unless expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions all other expenses become the responsibility of the Winner. The Winner (and their companion) are responsible for expenses incurred, including spending money, meals, all transfers (unless otherwise stated) including travel to and from departure point to airport, passports, visas, travel insurance, some taxes including departure taxes), energy surcharges, gratuities, and all other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the Winner. Incidentals charged to the Winner (and travel companion) room, such as meals, mini bar, laundry room services, telephone calls etc, are at the expense of the Winner and their travel companion. The Winner (and travel companion) must hold a valid passport with at least 6 months validity in order to accept the Prize. Flights and accommodation are subject to availability and will be coordinated by the Promoter in conjunction with the Winner. The Winner (and their travel companion) is also responsible for ensuring that they have travel insurance prior to travel to cover them for the travel period (including transfers to their nearest capital city). Any fees associated with any amendments (including name changes), cancellations and additions to the initial booking (where authorised) are at the Winners expense. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the Winner at check-in to the hotel, for all incidental charges.
Flight schedules are subject to change without notice. The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. Domestic and International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the website of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The Winner and (travel companion) will have all flights and accommodation booked by the Promoter and associated agencies from departure and arrival at Sydney International airport, unless otherwise arranged and agreed by the Promoter. Travel to and from Sydney airport does not form part of the Prize are the responsibility of the Winner, unless otherwise stated or available.
It is the responsibility of the each entrant to ensure that their details registered to the is accurate and up to date.
The Promoter reserves the right to request the Winner to provide proof of age, identity and residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter.
Should an entrant’s contact details change during the Promotional Period, it is the entrant’s responsibility to notify the Promoter as soon as practicable.
The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, or who submits an entry/claim which is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry. Errors and omissions accepted at the Promoters discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from acceptance of the Prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought prior to entering the competition.
The prize must be taken as offered and cannot be varied unless authorised by the Promoter. The prize value is in Australian dollars and is correct at time of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value. If a prize or part of is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value subject to any written directions from the NSW lottery Department.
The prize is not transferable to another person or exchangeable. The prize cannot be redeemed as cash, other goods and services or sold to a third party including online auctions and private sales. Unused portions of the prize will be forfeited and no compensation will be paid in lieu of that element of the prize.
The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.
The Promoter and its associated agencies, and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.
If a prize remains unclaimed on 4 February 2013 at 12pm, a second chance draw will be held at the original draw address at 1pm on 4 February 2013, subject to any written directions given under applicable law. The second chance draw will take place in the same manner as the original Draw. Winner will be contacted via phone and mail and published in The Australian on the 9 February 2013.
The Winner accepts the Prize at their own risk. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter will not be responsible for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of or in connection with this promotion if the deficiency is occasioned by any cause outside the reasonable control of the Promoter including without limitation technical malfunctions or failures.
The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about you to enable you to participate in this promotion. Use of such information will be in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. To facilitate your participation, the Promoter may disclose your personal information to other companies associated with this promotion. By entering this promotion unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter may use this information in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes (including advising you of special sales, specific promotional events and other special offers) without any further reference, payment, or other compensation to the entrant including, sending the entrant electronic messages. Entrants’ personal information may be disclosed to the NSW lottery departments and winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter at their address set out below.
The entrant agrees to participate and co-operate with the Promoter as required in all editorial and promotional activities relating to the competition, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed for the purpose of promoting this competition (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter for an unlimited period of time without remuneration. The Winner also agrees to grant to the Promoter a perpetual and exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the Winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
The Winner/s may be required to execute a Deed of Acknowledgement, Release and Indemnity in a form prescribed by the Promoter, at the Promoters discretion.
The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders it's determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the activity and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State Regulation.
