Hop aboard the Good Ship Marian Street when Marian Street Theatre for Young People present IMOGEN AND THE PIRATES from 12 January to 23 March 2013. True to Marian Street style, kids are invited to join in with the lively songs and audience participation for a swashbuckling adventure.
Imogen Merryweather has never done a single chore in her entire life. She’s as spoilt as a little girl can be – that is, until Mad Maggie and a crew of evil pirates hijack her parent’s ship! Suddenly Imogen’s parents find themselves marooned on a desert island scrubbing decks and eating stale biscuits.
Soon the pirates discover they’ve hijacked more than they bargained for; Imogen throws tantrums like Frisbees and cleverly has them all disguised as women obeying her orders! Jolly Roger, the merriest pirate who ever tapdanced on a plank, is coming to save the Merryweathers in his ship Lollipop – but first he has to fight off sea monsters, ghosts and Mad Maggie’s mother...
Marian Street Theatre for Young People is a not-for-profit organisation that has been creating quality theatre for children for over 40 years with a blend of great storytelling, original music and
puppetry, brought to life by the talented young performers from Marian Street Drama School.
