The Sunshine Coast Regional Council ‘Sign up and WIN up to $1000 off your rates” competition (the competition) is open to all conforming entries from eligible competition entrants received before midnight 4 January, 2013.
Council will discount up to $1000 off the winner's January 2013 Rates Notice. If the Rates Notice is less than $1000, council will discount the full amount.
Eligible entrants will receive one entry into the competition for each unique, valid email address they provide.
Duration of the competition
The competition will start on Friday 30 November 2012 and close at midnight on Friday 4 January 2013. The winner will be drawn on Friday 11 January 2013.
The promoter may in its absolute discretion suspend, cancel or recommence the competition if:
a) for any reason the competition is not capable of running as planned, or
b) the determination of the prize winner or the delivery of the prizes is prevented or hindered by any outside agent or event.
Nature and value of the prizes
All conforming entries from eligible competition entrants received before the competition close will be entered into the competition database and will be eligible to win the prize.
The promoter will select at random a winner who has signed up to have their rates received by email between Friday 30 November 2012 and 4 January 2013.
The winner will receive $1000 off their rates.
This prize is not transferable or redeemable for a cash equivalent. This prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if the recipient is unable to use it in this way.
The prize winners agree to participate and cooperate as required with any marketing activities undertaken by the promoter in relation to this competition.
Method of advising winners
The competition winners will be notified by email on Friday 11 January 2013.
Release and indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, the promoter excludes liability for, and all entrants release from and indemnify the promoter against, all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of the prize or participation in the competition including (but not limited to) loss of income, loss of opportunity, personal injury and damage to property, whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.
Promoter
The promoter is the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.
Employees and contractors of the promoter, their families and companies associated with this competition are ineligible to enter.
The promoter's decision in relation to all aspects of the competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Privacy statement

Council is authorised to collect this information in accordance with the Local Government Act 2009 and other local government Acts. By submitting an entry you consent to council publishing your name, suburb and image, in its publications or other local media. Council advises that publication on its website may result in information being transmitted outside Australia.
