On of the most exciting band of 2012 were definitely ALABAMA SHAKES, are on their way to Australian debut at BIG DAY OUT 2013.
Front woman Brittany Howard’s soul-drenched howl falls somewhere between Howlin’ Wolf and Janis Joplin, making for an electrifying live show.
Formed in Athens, Alabama in 2009, Brittany Howard & co.’s fierce, soul-infused brand of rock n’ roll has been on a meteoric rise to the top. In October 2011, ALABAMA SHAKES gave a performance at the CMJ Festival in New York City that earned a glowing review from the New York Times describing the band as “a thunderbolt dressed in bluejeans,” with music that’s “aching when it’s slow and growling and whooping when it’s fast.” NPR named them one of the best bands of 2011, while MTV called them one of the top bands to look for in 2012.
Alabama Shakes will be playing to SOLD OUT audiences in Australia and will be supported by Bob Logg III at both shows on:
