Sound City served as the birthplace of many classic albums including Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours, Neil Young’s After the Gold Rush and Nirvana’s Nevermind. The documentary features interviews with Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, Lars Ulrich and Neil Young, who chat about what made the studio and it’s fabled Neve 8028 analogue recording console so wonderful, and what the turn toward digital recording meant for the studio, which shut down its operations in 2011.
