Author Karen Hodges became involved with koalas in the early 1990's after her local area was developed for housing and the koala population became fragmented and displaced. She also helped nurse koalas after a huge fire. Karen aims to promote the importance of animal conservation to children so that they carry on the cause in the years to come.
