 Bicentennial Park Public Memories Competition Competition Terms and Conditions of Entry
Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these conditions of entry.
1. The promoter of this competition is Sydney Olympic Park Authority (ABN 68 010 941 405)
of Level 1, 8 Australia Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park NSW 2127 in Australia (Promoter).
2. The competition commences on 6 March 2013 at 9am and closes 19 April 2013 at 5pm.
3. This competition is open only to all eligible Australian residents (Entrants). Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, and agencies associated with this competition are not eligible to enter.
4. Entries must be made by accessing “http://www.facebook.com/SydneyOlympicPark, Like Sydney Olympic Park” from where you:
- upload an original, unpublished story of Bicentennial Park in less than 50 words and/or a photo of a memorable moment at Bicentennial Park;
- include your first name, last name, email address and phone number;
- select “Submit”, then “allow” the “share your memories” application permission to:
o Access Your Basic Information;
o Send you an email (Entry)
Once the Entrant clicks on “Allow” the Entry will be considered valid. Entrants will then be redirected to the Competition page where they will be prompted to Share the Competition via Facebook or Twitter with their friends.
Alternatively, you may submit your entry by email at whatson@sydneyolympicpark.com.au using the entry requirements as in point 4.
5. There is no limit to the number of Entries per person.
6. By entering the competition the Entrant will be automatically registered to become a Sydney Olympic Park What’s On? member. Membership is free and Entrants will receive free fortnightly What’s On? email updates from Sydney Olympic Park about upcoming events and offers. Members can unsubscribe at any time.
How are the entries judged?
7. This is a competition of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners. Judges will be appointed by the Promoter. Each valid Entry will be judged on originality, artistic merit and how well it fits the theme and prizes will be awarded in the following categories, as determined by the judges in their absolute discretion:
- Major Prize (judged on 23 April 2013): - 1 x the best story
- 1 x the best photo
- 1 x the best combined story and photo
- Weekly Prize (Entries submitted during each week (closing 15 March, 22 March, 29 March 5
April and 12 April) will be judged on the following day (the first being Monday 18 March):
- 1 x the ‘memory of the week’ per week
8. The decision of the judges or the Promoter in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every Entrant and no correspondence will be entered into.
9. Each of the three major prize winners will receive the following prize, worth a total of $2,349:
- Allphones Arena TOTAL Concert Experience for 4 people valid for any concert in 2013 with this ticket type available.
- one night’s accommodation in a 4.5 star two bedroom apartment at Quest Apartments, Sydney Olympic Park
- a meal at Ribs and Rumps restaurant, Sydney Olympic Park, up to the value of $200 Prizes are subject to suppliers terms and conditions and availability.
10. Each of the weekly prize winners will receive the following prize, worth a total of $220:
- Champagne/ High Tea package for 4 people at Lilies on the Park valued at $90 each
- Bike Hire for 4 people valued at $80
- Picnic pack (including picnic blanket, bottle opener) valued at $50
11. The three main prize winners will be notified by email and telephone and will be published on the Sydney Olympic Park Facebook page and website on 23 April 2013.
12. Weekly prize winners will be notified by email and telephone and published on Sydney Olympic Park Facebook page and website on 20 March, 27 March, 3 April, 10 April and 17 April 2013.
13. The prizes will be delivered at the Promoter’s expense within six weeks of the winners being judged.
14. Prizes containing alcohol cannot be distributed to or collected by a person under 18.
15. The prizes are not transferrable or exchangeable or redeemable for cash and may not be sold, on-sold, exchanged for fee or reward or other valuable consideration or otherwise commercially dealt with without the prior written consent of the Promoter, who may attach any conditions it sees fit on such consent. If the Entrant has breached this condition 12, then the bearer of a ticket issued for a prize relating to an event may be denied entry to the event, or the Promoter may refuse to deliver the prize to the Entrant or third party.
16. All Entries (which include the literary and photographic works) become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to publish the Entries or any part of the Entries in any manner, including print and electronic media, for purposes including the promotion of Sydney Olympic Park, without seeking the permission of the Entrant.
17. As a condition of entering into this competition, each Entrant:
- warrants to the Promoter that each submitted Entry is an original literary or photographic work of the Entrant that does not infringe the rights of any third party;
- warrants to the Promoter that he or she is the owner of each submitted Entry and that he or she has full rights in and title to all aspects of the Entry;
- assigns and transfers all right, title and interest (including copyright and other intellectual property rights) in and to the Entry to the Promoter;
- waives its moral rights in respect of the Entry and consents to use of the Entry by Promoter without any attribution as to authorship by Promoter;
- waives its moral rights of integrity so that Promoter is free to modify, alter and use the Entry for any purpose and in any manner it chooses;
- indemnifies the Promoter against any claims, demands, losses, damages and costs that the Promoter incurs or may incur as a result of a breach of any warranty or other obligation of the Entrant under this clause.
18. As a condition of entering into this competition, each Entrant:
- acknowledges that if the information requested is not provided, the Entrant cannot participate in the competition;
- acknowledges that the Promoter collects the Entrant’s personal information in order to conduct the competition and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers and prize suppliers;
- agrees that the Promoter may, for an indefinite period unless otherwise advised, use information from the Entry for future promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the Entrant, without any reference, payment or other compensation to the Entrant.
19. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to the Promoter.
20. If for any reason this competition is cancelled or is not capable of running as planned due to an intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest or strikes, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to compliance with any relevant laws.
