Contesting: An individual day during the Promotional Period is known as a “Contesting Day”.
Entry Restrictions
Entrants must be able to travel domestically to join Merrick And The Highway Patrol in their studios at various location within Australia between the 27 May 2013 and 31 May 2013
Entrants must be at least 18 years or older.
Relevant State(s) and/or Territory(ies)
Entries are restricted to residents of NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, ACT, Tasmania.
Maximum Entries per person
Unlimited number of entries per person.
Entry Procedure
To enter, entrants must, during the Promotion Period:
1. Go to www.thehighwaypatrol.com.au and register the following details:
a) First name;
b) Surname;
c) Address;
d) Mobile phone number
e) DOB; and
f) Email address.
2. Entrants must answer the following question in 155 words or less, “what do you think you can do better than Merrick?” and thereby nominate a skill.
3. There will also be the option to upload audio and video to support of an Entry. However this is not mandatory.
4. Entrants will be chosen to join Merrick, Rach and Jules at the station (Triple M Sydney), or an alternate location within Sydney (where necessary). The Entrant will need to display their nominated skill to The Highway Patrol team and then Merrick will attempt to ‘do it better’.
5. If when Judged, Merrick can “do it better” Merrick will donate $1,000 to a nominated charity.
6. If Merrick is not able to complete the challenge “better” than the Entrant, the Entrant will win a Major Prize.
7. There are only five (5) Major Prizes and once the prize pool is no longer available the Promotion will end.
Judging Details
Date: 21 May to 24 May 2013 (inclusive), and 27 May to 30 May 2013 (inclusive). Time: Between 1pm and 4pm AEST each day.
Location: Level 14, 50 Goulburn Street, Sydney, NSW, 2000
Judging Criteria: Entries will be judged on creativity, literary merit, originality and suitability.
Throughout the Promotional Period, the Promoter may at their absolute discretion contact some Entrants either via phone call and/or in writing, to further discuss the details of that person’s Entry. Any contact is not indicative of an Entrant’s standing in the competition, and does no way indicate whether or not that Entrant has been selected as a Contestant/Finalist/Winner.
All decisions of Judging are at the discretion of the Promoter and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.

In the event that an Entrant resides outside of NSW, they will receive the below:
- 1 x economy class return airfare from their closest capital city to Sydney
- 1 night accommodation in Sydney (minimum 3.5 star)
- Airport transfers
NSW residents are not entitled to any of the above or otherwise, travel expenses.
Prize Restrictions
Cash prizes will be awarded in the form of a cheque / EFT transfer to the winners nominated bank account. The fulfillment of cash prizes is yet to be determined by the Promoter. Cash transfers and cheques may take up to thirty (30) working days to process prior to being ready for collection / postage, from the date the Promoter contacts the Winner to confirm their details.
Winners will be notified once cheques are ready for collection, should that be the method of prize fulfillment.
