Four years in the making, the inaugural Vagabond Music Festival kicks off on 100 acres of farmland at ‘The Old Fruit Orchard’ in NSW’s Kangaroo Valley this Queens Birthday long weekend, Sat-Mon June 8-10, 2013.
The inaugural line-up is headlined by Chilean turntable genius DJ Sien, who has finally made it to Australia after touring the globe performing at the world’s biggest festivals, including Lollapalooza.
Also featured in the line up are Guineafowl, The Bedroom Philosopher, Fishing, Luke Million, Bec Sandridge, Lurch & Chief, The Money Go Round, APES, Dylan Hill, The Cadres, Bell Weather Department, The Dead Heads, Jacobide, Psychlops Eyepatch, Pro/gram, Hubert Clarke Jnr w/Prof. Jacob Porter, plus more.
The 18+ event includes camping on the farm which was once a fruit orchard tourist farm. A two-hour drive from Sydney and Canberra, the sublime Kangaroo Valley and its quaint township in the Shoalhaven Region of NSW are a part of the appeal of the festival along with the distinctive features of the farm with its natural amphitheatres, high sandstone escarpments and wide valley views. It’s fair to say there has never been a backdrop quite like it.
If you’d like a double pass (camping inclusive) to this lovely event, email
allan@bmamag.com and tell him what you would name a valley – assuming it would live up to its namesake. (In case that’s unclear, we mean that if you named it ‘Jelly Valley’, it would harbour a lot of deaths by delicious drowning.)
Email the editor with your name, phone number and address to see if you can pick up yourself a one of these.
