1. Information on how to enter & prizes form part of these terms & conditions. Any entry not complying with these terms and conditions is invalid.
2. Entry and participation in this Competition is open to residents of Australia who can fulfil the Eligibility Criteria:
a) Are 18 years or over; and
b) Have a valid email address; and
c) Own a cat that is at least 12 months old they would like to nominate to be featured on the label of the PURINA ONE Salmon and Tuna 800g pack.
d) If selected as a Finalist will be available for a ½ day visit from an animal handler, a professional photographer and the Promoter’s representative to their home to help prepare and provide some basic training for a photography shoot on a date to be determined on a week day anytime between Monday 19 August 2013 and Wednesday 28 August 2013.
Employees of the Promoter, their immediate families, related companies and agencies associated with the Competition are ineligible to enter.
3. The Competition has the following important dates:
a) Entry opens at 9am Australian Eastern Standard Time (“AEST”) on Monday 24 June 2013 & closes 12noon AEST Monday 15 July 2013 (“Competition Period”).
b) 10 Semi-finalists will be announced on the Purina Australia Facebook page by 5pm AEST on Tuesday 16 July 2013.
c) Public Voting opens at 9am AEST on Wednesday 17 July 2013 and closes at 9am AEST on 25 July 2013.
d) 3 Finalists will be announced on the Purina Australia Facebook page by midday AEST on Thursday 25 July 2013.
e) Final competition results will be announced on the Purina Australia Facebook page by 5pm AEST on Thursday 29 August 2013
4. Follow these steps to send an entry:
a) Visit
www.facebook.com/PurinaAustralia then click on the ‘Search for the 1’ Competition tab.
b) Upload an image of your cat in a .jpeg or .png or .gif file format. The file size must be less than 10MB. (Remember that the photo you submit cannot be the copyright property of another person if you do not have their permission to use it (including for publication as contemplated by these terms and conditions) or, it must be a photo that you have taken yourself.)
c) In no more than 140 characters, tell us why you think your cat deserves to be chosen.
d) Answer two simple questions about your cat’s behaviour.
e) Complete your contact details and agree that you understand that you may be contacted directly by the Promoter during the Competition Period about your entry.
5. An Eligible Entrant may send a maximum of 5 entries, provided each entry represents a different cat that they own that is at least 12 months old.
6. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of all entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process, including but not limited to using an image that is the copyright property of another person, providing information that is false, defamatory or offensive, making multiple entries that exceed the entry limit, or for otherwise submitting an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions.
7. Any member of the public may vote for an entry that appears in the Semi-finalist Gallery. Voting is limited to no more than three times in any 24 hour period, provided each vote is for a different cat. The Promoter retains the absolute discretion to investigate, suspend and/or deduct votes from an entry if it detects unusual voting activity.
8. The following prizes will be awarded:
a) Major prize includes:
i The winning cat will feature on the label of up to 100,000 packs of PURINA ONE Salmon & Tuna 800g.
ii A year’s supply of PURINA ONE cat food valued at $275.60 recommended retail price (“RRP”). The “Year’s Supply” is based on the recommended daily feed rate for an adult cat being 70g of cat food per day. This aspect of the prize will be delivered as;
- a delivery of 28 x 500g packs of PURINA ONE in the varieties nominated by the winner valued at $125.60 RRP; and
- a $150 EFTPOS gift card so that the winner may purchase the remainder of the year’s supply as they want. The card is redeemable from retailers that accept EFTPOS and will be subject to the issuer’s terms of use which can be read at

b) 2nd & 3rd Prize includes:
i A 6 month supply of PURINA ONE cat food valued at $137.80 recommended retail price (“RRP”). The “6 Months Supply” is based on the recommended daily feed rate for an adult cat being 70g of cat food per day. This aspect of the prize will be delivered 28 x 500g packs of PURINA ONE in the varieties nominated by each winner.
ii An A4 sized (21x30cm) framed professional photograph of their cat taken during the photo shoot.
c) Runner-Up Prize is a hamper of PURINA ONE products valued at up to $100 RRP. There are 7 Runner-Up prizes, (which will be awarded to the remaining Semi-finalists).
9. This competition is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the identity of prize winners. Prize winners will be determined as follows:
a) The Promoter’s judging panel will select the 10 entries it considers to be the best and display feature the cat in the Semi-Finalist Gallery on the Purina Australia Facebook page so that the public may vote for their favourite cat.
b) The outcome of the public voting will determine the 3 most popular cats to be named as the 3 Finalists.
c) Each Finalist will be visited at their home in order that the Promoter may determine the Winner of the Major Prize.
10. If for any reason, a Finalist is not able to participate in the photo shoot on the date scheduled by the Promoter, the Promoter may at its discretion:
a) disqualify that Finalist (who will then forfeit any claim to a prize);
b) choose another Semi-finalist and/or use only the remaining two Finalists to select the Major Prize Winner,
c) and/or select one of the remaining 7 Semi-finalist as an additional Finalist.
11. Prizes are not transferable & cannot be converted to cash.
12. Prize values are correct at time of printing but no responsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of any prize.
13. The Major Prize Winner will be required to enter into a talent release, in the form to be determined by the Promoter which will cover use of images, prize as consideration and participation in publicity.
14. Each winner should look to the manufacturer of products and provider of services awarded as prizes for all warranties. However, these terms and conditions do not exclude or limit the application of any statutory provision (including a provision of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) where to do so would contravene that statute or cause any part of these terms and conditions to be void.
15. The Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered, including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss, or for personal injury suffered or sustained during the course of accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
16. Each entry becomes the property of the Promoter. All details will be held in accordance with the Nestlé Privacy Policy which can be accessed by visiting

17. Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
18. Prize winners should allow up to 28 days from the date when competition results are announced for their prize to be delivered.
19. Entrants release Facebook from all liability in relation to the Competition. Entrants acknowledge that this Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered with Facebook and that any information provided by entrants is provided to the Promoter and not to Facebook.
20. By entering the competition, each entrant acknowledges that the Promoter acquires their entry image and statement for printing, broadcast, publicity and promotional purposes, including but not limited to Purina Australia Facebook Fan Page and the Promoter’s website/s without compensation. It is a condition of accepting any prize that the winner acknowledges that the Promoter acquires the right to use the entry statement for commercial purposes and agrees not to object to any such use on the basis of any moral right.
21. If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, whether caused by infection by computer virus, mobile phone failure, line drop out, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity of the Competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion, (subject to any written direction given by a relevant Regulatory Authority), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition. The Promoter may in its sole discretion disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
22. Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the Promoter’s database. The Promoter is not responsible for receipt of incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information caused by an entrant or occurring during transmission. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone, telephone or computer network, or lines, servers, or telephone or internet providers, traffic congestion on any phone or computer network, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person’s handset or computer related to or resulting from participation or sending or receiving of any communication or of any materials in this Competition.
