Imagine a time before sexting and internet dating; when a teenager’s rites of passage meant actually having to go up to someone and talk to them upfront. The anxiety was ten-fold compared to today’s getting-to-know-you-behind-the-façade-of-a-computer-screen tactics.

This is the scenario that hilarious comedy The To Do List is set in, where Valedictorian teen Brandy Klark (Aubrey Plaza of Parks And Recreation) wants to shed her uptight image before college, thereby putting together a ‘to do’ list of all the activities she missed out on in high-school. Naturally, many of these are sex-related, and sure enough Brandy sees herself experiencing things like ‘tea-bagging’ and ‘rimming’ in the bedroom – all this time having thought these were things you did in the kitchen.

Where The To Do List is majorly different to all the other sex-related teen comedies out there, from American Pie to Superbad, is that it’s viewed predominantly from a female perspective. And what’s wrong with that? What’s good for the goose is for the gander, after all.

Featuring a fine cast of familiar faces including Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), Sarah Steele (Please Give), Donald Glover (The Muppets) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (21 Jump Street), this is definitely one that’ll have you laughing – if not occasionally shocked.
