Win a double pass to âHopkele!â with the London Klezmer Quartet
The London Klezmer Quartet (UK) is back by popular demand and set to perform in February 2014 at VJs, Chatswood, co-presented by Jewish Arts Inc. and North Shore Temple Emanuel. Donât miss this festive event, exclusive to VJs! Appropriate for ages 8 and up.
The all-female London Klezmer Quartet have emerged as leaders in the international klezmer scene, presenting a heady mix of traditional and original melodies that is the celebratory and soulful music of pre-war Jewish eastern Europe. They take audiences on a Jewish Odyssey from Eastern Europe to Australia via the Balkans, Turkey, the US and London.
In 2013, The London Klezmer Quartet completed a very successful Australian tour, performing to packed audiences in music venues and at five festivals, including headlining at Port Fairy and the National Folk Festival. In their 2 Australian tours (2012 & 2013) they have sold out venues such as Melba Hall, Camelot Lounge, Melbourne Recital Centre, Sydney Jewish Museum, Kulcha (Fremantle) and the Famous Spiegeltent.
Audience response to the bandâs combination of technical prowess, celebratory and soulful material and engaging stage presence has been positive across the board. Reviews of their performances are at
