Iranian director, Asghar Farhadi, follows up the breakout success of the Oscar-winning, A Separation, with another intimate drama that delves unflinchingly into familial turmoil.
After four years spent apart, Ahmad (Ali Mossafa) returns to Paris from Tehran, at his French wife Marie's request, in order to finalise their divorce. Marie (Bérénice Béjo, The Artist) wishes to marry her new partner, Samir (Tahar Rahim, A Prophet), who barely tolerates the presence of Marie's ex. During his brief stay, Ahmad discovers that there is great conflict between Marie and her daughter Lucie. Ahmad's efforts to improve this relationship unveil a secret that has tremendous repercussions for the future of the family.
