One of Australia’s most iconic events, the Woodford Folk Festival, celebrates its 29th year with a vibrant and ambitious programme, as has come to be expected by the patrons, volunteers and artists who travel from across the country and around the globe on their annual pilgrimage to Woodfordia, the Festival’s home. Woodford Folk Festival is the largest gathering of artists and musicians in Australia, this year featuring over 400 acts presenting 1556 shows in 35 performance venues over six spectacular days and nights.

Pulsing through Woodford’s veins is a deep love and appreciation for music. This year’s music programme highlights include:

Violent Femmes (USA), Bertie Blackman, The Cat Empire, Archie Roach, Nahko and Medicine for the People (USA), The Topp Twins (NZ), Sticky Fingers, Kate Miller-Heidke, Jeff Lang, Lau (SCOT), Matt Anderson (CAN), Christine Anu, Tiny Ruins (NZ), Del Barber (CAN), We Two Thieves, Shooglenifty (SCOT), Led Kaapana (HAW), Hiatus Kiayote, Mia Dyson, Darren Middleton, John Smith (ENG), Jenn Grant (CAN).

Beyond the music, Woodford welcomes the dreamers, the makers, the bards, the line-pushers, history-makers and the leaders in their fields including:

This year’s featured artists will deliver the massive party energy Woodford is well known for. Critically acclaimed Woodford regulars Sticky Fingers return to join ecstatically optimistic festival favourites The Cat Empire and Triple J darlings Husky, Little Scout and The Cairos. Former Powderfinger guitarist Darren Middleton brings his solo project and the sweet melodies of New Zealand’s Tiny Ruins (NZ) will fill Woodfordia for the first time. Australian Blues royalty Jeff Lang and Israeli-Australian singer-songwriter Lior will arrive with accolades from their most recent projects.
