TheThe Stitches and Craft Show, Brisbane invites Brisbane to get crafty at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, 17 to 20 March 2016, open 10.00am to 4.30pm daily.
Heralded as THE place to purchase specialty stitching, paper and craft products and see what’s new in craft, The Stitches & Craft Show is the destination for anyone wanting to Share the Handmade Experience.
Some of the wonderful displays and exhibits include, 50 Years of Flower Power which features a stunning 10-metre long knitted and crocheted ‘flower garden’ made up of hundreds of bright floral motifs in all shapes, sizes and colours.
2016 debuts a new textile art exhibition that explores the ‘fourth dimension’ in cloth. Aptly named ‘A Matter of Time’, the exhibition features 32 new works by some of the world’s foremost quilters. Also on view will be an outstanding quilt exhibition from the USA, themed Food For Thought. This exhibition features 34 selected artworks by leading quilters, and explores the many aspects food plays in our daily lives.
Talented Australian weaver Rainie Williams will be a highlight of the show. Take part in one of her mini weaving workshops and enjoy the calming effects commonly associated with weaving.
The Love Vintage Show is back on the main stage, sporting a new look, where renowned vintage consultant Mistress Chrissy Keepence will present styling demonstrations and makeovers.
There are great opportunities to learn a range of crafting skills with Workshops, Make & Take Classes, Pop-Up Classes and free demonstrations and seminars.
