Miranda (Julia Roberts) is an accomplished writer and TV celebrity who is dealing with her own struggles with motherhood. While Jesse (Kate Hudson) and her sister (Sarah Chalke), never see their mother and are surprised when she comes down to visit, coming to terms with their failed relationship.
