https://engage.bayswater.wa.gov.au/age-friendly-strategy-2021-2025We are seeking the voices of older people and the wider community as we prepare the City of Bayswater’s second Age Friendly Strategy that will take us from 2021 to 2025. The strategy will guide the City of Bayswater’s approach to becoming an Age Friendly City and will build on the successes of the first Age Friendly Strategy (2017 to 2021).
The purpose of the Age Friendly Strategy is to provide a four year action plan that identifies key priorities and future initiatives that support and enhance the health and wellbeing of older people living, working or visiting the City of Bayswater.
What is an Age Friendly City?
An Age Friendly City is one where people of all ages can live healthy and independent lives for as long as possible, and remain in a secure and supportive environment that enables them to participate in the community as they group older.
An age friendly community is developed through addressing eight areas: Housing, Civic Participation, Outdoor spaces and buildings, Social participation, Communication and information, Transport, Respect and Social inclusion, Community support and health services (based on World Health Organisation – Age Friendly Cities).
