Progress Festival - Eddie Perfect: From Pitch to Performance
Progress Festival is an annual festival that acknowledges and dissects the important issues surrounding us today; climate change, geopolitical insecurity, community-building, identity and more. This year's theme for Progress Festival is 'connectivity'; an exploration into the future of society, the species and the planet through the lens of academia and art. Over 4 days in August, immerse yourself in a range of stimulating theatre, art, music, and academic events that will leave you with a new perspective.
As part of Progress Festival, you are invited to see Eddie Perfect and students from Monash University team up to present custom written songs for the stage and screen. An enthralling opportunity to enjoy the inventive brilliance of Eddie Perfect and the artists of the future, as they present the new-forged results of a super-intensive songwriting masterclass. In an evening hosted by Eddie himself, insights about the masterclass process will frame the students’ songs, providing a unique window into the inspiration and craft that goes into making a hit. These newly minted works will be interspersed with some favourites from Eddie’s own back-catalogue including a choral grand finale involving the full cast.
