'Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You' is the latest release from Big Thief, recorded over four distinct sessions: in Upstate New York, Topanga Canyon, The Rocky Mountains, and Tucson, Arizona.
Over 5 months the band completed 45 songs, editing the results down to a 20 track collection. The musical and lyrical range is immense. There's country rock numbers, hoedowns, psych-folk ballads, and traces of trip hop in the downbeat rhythmic pulse of tracks like 'Blurrred View' and 'Flower of Blood'.
The band have stated their intention to make a record that captured their growth as individuals, musicians, and as a chosen family. 'Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You' is an ambitious and joyous journal of that growth, rich with love, humour and poignancy.
