It’s that time of year again, when Brisbane gets a taste of true international culture with some extra flare. Presented by Palace, the Moro Spanish Film Festival is back for 2022, bringing with it a rich selection of films from Spain, Latin America and beyond. This illustrious film fest will be screening at Brisbane’s Palace Barracks and James Street Cinemas from April 28 until May 18. The rich program consists of 34 feature films, featuring some of Spain and Latin America’s leading stars. From period-set dramas, documentaries and realist drama, to satire and riotous comedies, the Moro Spanish Film Festival is for all movie-lovers and aficionados of Spanish cinema alike.

Highlights include the Australian premiere of the much-anticipated opening-night film, Official Competition (Competencia oficial), starring Penélope Cruz, Antonio Banderas and Oscar Martínez, charming and award-winning comedy Language Lessons starring Natalie Morales and Mark Duplass, and Disney family-favourite Encanto, presented in Spanish.
