'Everything Is Dangerous But Nothing's Surprising' Album of the Week
‘Everything Is Dangerous But Nothing's Surprising’ is Body Type’s debut album. It offers a characterically playful and powerful set of garage rock, punk, shoegaze and pop from the Eora/Sydney-based four-piece.
Sophie McComish, Annabel Blackman, Cecil Coleman, and Georgia Wilkinson-Derums recorded the album in eight days – shortly before they would become separated by the pandemic in early 2020. Recorded and mastered by Jonathan Boulet, the 11 new tracks sound joyfully anarchic, bursting with life and autonomy. It’s an album about seizing back control, embracing abandon and purging despair.
‘Everything Is Dangerous But Nothing's Surprising’ is out now via Poison City Records.
