Morphy Richards has announced a new partnership with Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea this year and to celebrate, we’re giving away a kettle and toaster prize pack worth $298. Morphy Richards is an affordable and stylish home appliances brand that’s known and loved for its beautiful kettle designs, and bringing the famous English ‘cuppa’ to Australian homes.
Cancer Council Australia first put its kettles on for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in 1994. This year, more than 5,000 morning teas will be hosted in Victoria, ranging from large corporate groups to intimate gatherings at private homes.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is the nation’s most popular fund-raising event, and raises money to fund research, prevention and support services for those affected by cancer. The financial contribution made by Morphy Richards will go directly to cancer research.
Spokesperson for Morphy Richards, Chris Carson, said that this first year of sponsoring Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea was incredibly meaningful.
“We’re already in the kitchens of Australians, and now we can make even more of a connection with their hearts by supporting families and loved ones going through cancer treatment and all that comes with that journey,” Chris said.
“We’re heartened that our corporate donation of $20,000 will go directly to cancer research, and will contribute to making a real change for people in our communities. Today, we are showing our support and making a more meaningful cuppa with our colleagues, our friends and our community,” she said.
Cancer Council Australia encourages hosts of morning teas to reach goals with the understanding of how their fund-raising can help: $150 provides transport and a night’s stay at a local cancer lodge for those who need to travel for treatment. $510 helps provide training to leaders of cancer support groups so they can offer emotional support to those impacted. Funds raised also help to support Australians reduce their cancer risk by funding world-leading prevention campaigns.
