La Bohème
10–14 September
After the extraordinary success of Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia and Verdi’s La Traviata (both presented in cinemas in 2021) comes a new opera-film collaboration between Opera di Roma and Rai Cultura.

Conceived by maestro Michele Mariotti and award-winning auteur Mario Martone, it’s a sumptuous new take on Puccini’s romantic masterpiece, performed inside the vast Scenography Workshops of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. This fascinating building, with a beautiful terrace overlooking the Circus Maximus and the Aventine, is normally used by the theatre’s painters, carpenters and costume makers.

There, Martone situates the characters of Bohème – led by Jonathan Tetelman as the poor poet Rodolfo and Federica Lombardo as his mischievous lover Mimi – and tells their story as a film of the ‘French New Wave’.

Enter below for your chance to win one of five double passes to La Bohème thanks to Palace Opera & Ballet.
