Over the last 12 years, Scenic Rim’s annual paddock-to-plate celebration has grown significantly, with new events, producers, growers and flavour makers added each year. This year, the number of events has expanded to 139, which means the traditionally week-long event is now running for an entire month! Scenic Rim Eat Local Month is returning from Thursday June 1 to Sunday July 2, with a smorgasbord of mouth-watering events stretching from Beaudesert to Beechmont, Kerry to Kalbar and Mount Alford to Tamborine Mountain. Visitors will be treated to five weekends of custom-created events – think dinner under the stars in a flower field, gin blending and spirit making, meet the producer events, farm tours, veggie picking and so much more.
The Weekend Edition is thrilled to be partnering with Scenic Rim Eat Local Month for a very special event, Be Seen on the Green at The Bowl in Boonah on Saturday June 17. The Bowl Boonah is Scenic Rim’s newest venue. a gorgeous, renovated bowls club with a cracking mountain view. Acclaimed chef Jack Stuart (co-owner and who also owns Blume) and his team will serve up a produce-driven three-course lunch in the shade on the green, set to the soundtrack of live music. Once the feasting is over, you’re invited to kick on with a game of barefoot bowls as the sun sets over the picturesque mountain backdrop.
If you’re keen to stick around for a couple of days to continue exploring the Scenic Rim Eat Local Month program, look no further than Ketchup’s Bank Glamping. Perfectly positioned in the beautiful and tranquil region of Cannon Creek, just 15 minutes from Boonah, it’s the ideal spot to rest your head after a full day of bites and bowls. Guests can stay in the private Ironbark Luxury Eco-Tent, nestled within the property’s native eucalyptus forest. You’ll feel completely immersed in nature as you gaze through the floor-to-ceiling glass doors, allowing you to spy furry and feathered friends from the comfort of your cosy bed.
