Indie-bush balladeer’ and ‘talk of the town’ Watty Thompson is bringing the spirit of the bush to the city with a bush dance for the ages launching his inspiring self-titled debut album at Estonian House in Brunswick West on Saturday 13th May from 1pm

On his debut album Watty has ‘reclaimed the bush ballad’ for our modern times, injecting it with empathy, love and positivity, creating a space in which to abandon all your troubles and make time to live for the moment, with Rhythms Magazine calling it, “… one of the finest releases you’ll hear in 2023. An outstanding opus of passionate existentialism.�

Held within the beautiful walls of the 1920’s theatre at Estonian House in Brunswick West, it’ll be a day and night to remember as Watty Thompson performs a very special show with his Total Fire Band. Joining the party are The Brumbies Bush Band who will host a good ol fashioned bush dance. Playing since 1978 and featuring one of the country’s best dance callers.

Also performing at the big dance will be beloved garage/punk rock extremists and conjurers of positivity and community spirit, Zig Zag, the beautifully hard hitting and entrancing sounds of the Georgia Knight Band, along with treasured musical favourite from the Victorian High Country, Benny Williams.

Doors at 1pm. 18+ fully licensed event.
