Travel Prize Conditions:
1. Award and redemption of the Prize is subject to the winner agreeing to the Annexed Holland
America Line Terms and Conditions.
2. The Prize includes:
a. select onboard main meals (with the exception of those restaurants which have an
additional cover charge);
b. select onboard activities, evening entertainment, and access to nightclubs (with the
exception of those activities and facilities which have an additional cover charge); and
c. taxes, fees and port expenses.
3. The Prize is subject to availability. If the Prize (or part of the Prize) is unavailable, Holland
America Line, at its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the Prize (or that part of the
Prize) with a prize to substantially equal value and/or specification, subject to any written
directions from a regulatory authority.
4. Vaccination requirements apply to claim the Prize. Government guidelines may result in a
requirement to quarantine during or after your cruise and may restrict your ability to participate
in shore tours or disembark the ship at ports we visit during your cruise. Guidelines are subject
to change without notice and as such, the Prize may vary from the descriptions provided.
Cruise itineraries are not guaranteed.
5. Once the FlightEase® air credit is exhausted, all costs associated with transport to/from the
departure port will be the responsibility of the winner and will not be borne by the Holland
America Line. Pre or post accommodation, shore excursions or other onboard activities,
spending money, additional meals, taxes, insurance, passports, visas, vaccinations, transfers,
items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs are not included.
6. The winner and their companions are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary and
valid travel documentation including, passports, any requisite visas and vaccinations. The
winner and their travel companions will be responsible for any expenses incurred in obtaining
necessary travel documentation, including any fines, or penalties incurred as a result of not
having the requisite travel documentation. Itineraries are not guaranteed.
7. Prizes, or any unused portion of a prize, are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be
taken as cash. If the winner is, for whatever reason, unable to travel within the nominated
period, or does not take an element of the Prize within the time stipulated then that element of
the Prize will be forfeited by the winner. Redemption of the FlightEase® air credit is subject to
any terms and conditions. Any ancillary costs associated with redeeming the FlightEase® air
credit are not included. Any unused balance of the FlightEase® air credit will not be awarded
as cash.
8. In accepting the Prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate with all reasonable
media editorial requests by Holland America Line, including but not limited to, being
interviewed and photographed, and the winner grants Holland America Line a perpetual and
non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the
winner will not be entitled to any fee for use.
9. With the exception of the intellectual property rights set out in the Plat du Tour - Win a
European cruise for two plus airfares with Holland America Line Competition Terms and
Conditions and these Holland America Line Terms and Conditions, the winner agrees they will
not sell or otherwise provide their story and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.
10. Standard terms and conditions of travelling with Holland America Line will apply, including any
applicable age restrictions and vaccination and testing requirements. See Cruise Contract at

passengers will be bound by.
11. The winner must provide valid identification to Holland America Line. The winner or their
travelling companion must be over the age of 21 years (subject to applicable age restrictions).
Alcohol consumption and gambling onboard are restricted to passengers aged 21 years of age
or older. A credit card imprint or cash deposit will be required from the winner at check-in in
order to board the cruise ship, for all incidental charges.
12. Holland America Line may require the winner to sign a waiver of liability and indemnity in the
form determined by Holland America Line in its absolute discretion.
13. Holland America Line accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the
incentive. Independent financial advice should be sought.
14. As a condition of accepting the Prize, the winner must sign any legal documentation as and in
the form required by Holland America Line in their absolute discretion, including but not limited
to a legal release and indemnity form.
15. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, Holland Americal Line (including its
respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability
(including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of
opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any
technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Holland America Line’s
control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize
claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the
Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation
in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) if the cruise is delayed,
postponed or cancelled for any reason beyond the reasonable control of Holland America Line;
(f) any tax liability incurred by a winner or Entrant; or (g) use of and/or taking of the prize.
16. Holland America Line collects personal information in order to conduct the competition and
administer the Prize and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties,
including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers and suppliers in the United
States and, as required, to regulatory authorities in Australia, New Zealand and the ports of call
on the cruise itinerary. Entry is conditional on providing this information. Holland America Line
may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional,
marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or
telephoning the winner in accordance with its Privacy Policy available here:

should direct any request to opt out, access, update or correct information to Holland America

17. The laws of NSW apply to this promotion to the exclusion of any other law. The winner submits
to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of NSW.

Winner Selection:
One Prize Winner will be selected from all valid entries.
The Winner(s) will be drawn at random by the Promoter (or its nominated agent) on 1st August

Second Chance Draw and notification:
If a Winner cannot be contacted by 9am and 1st November 2023, the Promoter or its nominated
agent will select another winner from all valid entries. Second Chance Draw winners will be notified
by email and phone on 3rd November 2023 and published on the SBS website and in The
Australian on 6th November 2023.
General Terms and Conditions
1. Entry into the Competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions. Information
relating to the Competition and the above Schedule form part of the terms and conditions for the
Competition. The Promoter may vary these terms and conditions from time to time at its sole
discretion, subject to approval of the relevant state authorities.
2. Eligibility to enter the Competition is subject to the Entry Restrictions above.
3. To enter the Competition, entrants must complete the process outlined in the Entry Details during
the Competition Period. Any entry received outside of the Competition Period will be deemed
invalid.
4. Entrants may enter the Competition up to the Maximum Number of Entries. Each entry must be
submitted separately and meet the eligibility requirements.
5. Incomprehensible and incomplete entries will be deemed invalid. No responsibility is accepted
for late, lost, delayed or misdirected entries.
6. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, postpone or vacate the Competition or any part thereof
in the event of unforeseen circumstances. For the avoidance of doubt this includes but is not
limited to epidemic, pandemic, natural disaster, emergencies and travel restrictions e.g. related
to a COVID-19 case outbreak, wave or spike.
7. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of identity, proof of Australian residency status
at the nominated Prize delivery address and proof of entry validity, in order to claim a Prize.
Acceptance of proof of eligibility is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that an entrant
cannot provide proof, their entry will be deemed invalid.
8. All valid entries are automatically entered into the Winner Selection process, which will take place
at the times and dates set out in the Schedule, including any specified Second Chance Draw.
9. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
10. Winners will be notified in accordance with the Winner Notification details in the Schedule.
11. All Prizes are as depicted or described in the Schedule and, unless otherwise specified, are not
transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The Promoter is not responsible
for any additional costs associated with use of the Prize.
12. If a Prize is date specific, the Winner must be available to redeem the Prize on the date/s
specified in the Schedule. If the Winner is not able to redeem the Prize on the specified date/s,
the Promoter may determine another Winner in its absolute discretion.
13. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any loss, damages, or injury incurred to enter the
Competition or in connection with taking up the Prizes.
14. Once Prizes have left the Prize Supplier’s premises, no responsibility is taken for Prizes
damaged, delayed or lost in transit.

15. Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of
GST). The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in Prize value between now and the
ultimate Prize redemption date.
16. It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use
of the Prize and the Prize Supplier’s requirements.
17. Travel portions of a Prize may be subject to blackout dates and travel periods as specified in the
Schedule. If travel has not been redeemed within this time period, tickets shall be deemed null
and void.
18. Rewards program points cannot be accrued when taking up the Prize.
19. Bookings are subject to availability and are not re-routable. Once booked and approved by the
Prize Supplier, any changes may incur a cancellation fee or amendment fee at the cost of the
winner. Once tickets have been issued they cannot be changed.
20. Neither the Promoter nor the Prize Supplier/s or their associated companies will be held liable
for any loss, damage or injury that results directly or indirectly from the Winner taking part in any
aspect of the Prize. Where relevant, the Winner agrees that they take full responsibility for any
activities engaged in while travelling and engaging in the Prize package and will take out
appropriate travel insurance.
21. The Winner and their travelling companion are responsible for any visa requirements associated
with the Prize. In the event that the Winner or their companion are unable to obtain appropriate
visas, the Promoter takes no responsibility for the Prize winner’s or their companion's inability to
take the Prize.
22. Winners are responsible for all costs not expressly listed as being included in the Prize, including
without limitation, meals, entertainment, other travel and accommodation, incidentals, gratuities,
services charges, optional extras, transfers, passports, visas, re-entry permits, spending money,
freights, excess baggage, government taxes, departure taxes, ground transportation any tax
liabilities, airport charges, any applicable surcharges and any other related costs. Unless
otherwise specified in the Schedule, travel insurance is not included in the Prize and will be the
responsibility of the winner(s). Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against the
additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
23. If a Prize includes accommodation, it is a condition of accepting the Prize that the Winner may
be requested to present their credit card or a cash deposit upon arrival at any accommodation
to cover all ancillary costs they may incur during their stay. For the avoidance of doubt, the
Winner acknowledges that the accommodation part of the Prize includes room charges only and
no ancillary costs such as room service.
24. Travel arrangements to and from the Winner’s departure city airport do not form part of the Prize
and are the responsibility of the Winner.
25. The Winner and their travelling companion must travel together on the same dates and to and
from the same destination.
26. All travel will be subject to the general conditions of carriage. The Promoter and Prize Supplier
make no representations as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any
destination. It is the responsibility of the Winner to enquire about local issues and conditions at
destinations before travel.
27. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant submitting an entry which, in the
Promoter’s opinion, includes objectionable content.
28. The Promoter takes no liability for any tax issues which may arise from accepting a Prize in this
Competition. Consult an independent tax adviser if this is a concern.

29. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers,
employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal or
permanent injury or loss of life; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether
direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition.
30. If the Prize involves tickets to an event or travel, the Promoter is not responsible for any change
in times or dates, cancellations or rescheduling of events that may prevent the Prize Winner
from redeeming the Prize or any part of it.
31. All Prizes are subject to availability. In the event that any of the Prizes or part of a Prize becomes
unavailable due to circumstances beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter
reserves the right to provide a similar prize to the same or greater value as the original prize,
subject to state regulations.
32. Neither the Promoter nor the Prize Supplier or their associated companies is responsible, to the
extent permitted by law, for acts of god, acts of terrorism or war (declared or undeclared), state
of emergency or disaster, or other events beyond the Promoter and the Prize Supplier's control
which prevent the Competition from running as planned or prevent awarding or acceptance of
the Prize in accordance with the Prize description. If such acts or events occur, the Promoter
reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition or suspend or modify
a Prize, subject to state regulations.
33. The Promoter and the Prize Supplier/s assume no responsibility for any error, omission,
interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure,
theft, destruction or unauthorised access to, or alterations of entries, and reserves the right to
take any action that may be available. If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running
as planned, due to causes including, but not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention,
fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or
affect the administrative security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, the
Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion, to take any action that may be available to the
fullest extent permitted by law, including to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry
process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition. Subject to state
regulations.
34. All entries become and remain the property of the Promoter.
35. Entrants consent to their full names and/or their entries being used in all media by the Promoter.
Entrants acknowledge and agree they may be required to participate in promotional activities
while taking up the Prize.
36. The Promoter may use entrants' names and details for promotional, marketing and publicity
purposes. The Promoter may also be required to disclose your personal information to its
contractors, agents, co-promoter and to state and territory gaming departments to assist in
conducting the Competition.
37. All details of the entrants (including personal information) will be collected, used, preserved and
disclosed in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles and the SBS Privacy Policy. A
request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the SBS Privacy
Officer. Unless otherwise notified, the Promoter may use the entries and details of entrants for
promotional and publicity purposes.
38. Any entrant found to be using multiple social media accounts to enter the Competition may be
disqualified at SBS’s sole discretion.
39. Entrants acknowledge this Competition is in no way associated with or sponsored or endorsed
by Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Any information disclosed by entrants entering this
