Businesses are invited to get into the Christmas spirit and register as a Star Business as soon as possible to encourage Star Shoppers to spend local in the lead up to the festive season.
The competition will run from Wednesday 1 November until Friday 15 December 2023.
By shopping at a Star Business, customers will have the opportunity to win a $500 first prize or one of five runner-up $100 vouchers to spend at any one of the participating businesses.
Griffith City Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran, said the aim was to increase participation and engagement between Council, business and the community and to help invigorate the economy.
"There are some amazing businesses in our Local Government Area and I urge them to register," Councillor Curran said.
"The feedback we received from participating stores in previous years is that it definitely helped attract shoppers.
"By spending locally, residents not only get to put back into our wonderful community, but also have the chance to win."
Council will promote through social media including Instagram, and businesses are encouraged to showcase their displays using the hashtag #Glow2680
