WIN a double pass to PICASSO: A Rebel in Paris (Sydney)

Early one morning in 1901, Picasso arrived in Paris. And that’s the day his future began, in that city. Born in Spain in 1881, he would spend most of his life in Paris, often feeling like an outsider. PICASSO. A Rebel in Paris explores Picasso’s life and his journey from a poor immigrant to a 20th-century icon.

Directed by Simona Risi, this documentary commemorates the 50th anniversary of Picasso’s death, highlighting his life in Paris, the Musée Picasso, and his complex character. Iranian actress Mina Kavani guides us through this narrative, drawing parallels between her own expatriate experience and Picasso’s.

Thanks to Sharmill Films, Australian Arts Review has two (2) double passes to PICASSO: A Rebel in Paris to giveaway to attend a special advanced screening on Monday 17 June at the Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace, Cremorne (NSW). TO WIN: email your name and email address with PICASSO in the subject line to: admin@artsreview.com.au by Thursday 13 June 2024. Only the winners will be notified!

PICASSO: A Rebel in Paris screens in selected cinemas from Thursday 22 June 2024. For more information, visit: www.sharmillfilms.com.au for details. Checkout the trailer here!
