Melbourne Rare Book Week
Melbourne Rare Book Week returns from July 18 to 27. The event celebrates the fascinating world of rare and collectable books across more than 40 free events throughout Melbourne. You'll find everything from medieval manuscripts to Avant Garde artists’ books; sports collections of the Melbourne Cricket Club; priceless books in the NGV, State Library Victoria; Melbourne Museum. There's also the iconic Rare Book Fair, from Thursday 25 to Sunday 27 July.
To celebrate, Melbourne Rare Book Week is giving away five copies of the exquisite The World of the Book By Des Cowley, Clare Williamson.
Beautifully illustrated, The World of the Book is a celebration of books that draws upon the rare collections of State Library Victoria. A journey through time and across the globe, this volume features great books and publishing innovations of the past and present. It also revels in the sheer beauty of books as objects to be desired and treasured.
