By entering the “Win a trip to Milan” promotion (“the Competition”), you are agreeing to the following terms and
conditions:
1. STANDARD TERMS
1.1 Instructions on how to enter, prize details and other information contained within the promotional
advertisements and point of sale materials form part of these terms and conditions.
1.2 By participating in this Competition entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
1.3 To the extent of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and any other reference to the
Competition, these terms and conditions prevail.
2. WHO CAN ENTER?
2.1 Subject to clause 2.2, entry is open to all residents of Western Australia aged 18 years or older.
2.2 Employees (and their immediate families) of West Australian Newspapers Limited (“WAN”, “Promoter”), Seven
Network (Operations) Limited, and Prime Television (Holdings) Pty Limited and West Australian Ballet Company
(“Sponsors”) and their respective associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter.
2.3 In this clause 2, a reference to “Immediate Family Member” includes a spouse, defacto spouse, parent, natural
or adopted child or sibling living in the same residence as employees.
3. PROMOTIONAL PERIOD
3.1 The Competition commences on Monday 5th August 2024 00:00 AWST and concludes on Sunday 18th August
2024 23:59 AWST (“Competition Period”).
4. HOW TO ENTER
4.1 To enter the Competition, you must register your details at thewest.com.au/milan before Sunday 18th
August 2024 11:59 PM AWST
4.2 All entrants in the Competition may only enter once. All entrants found to have entered more than once, will
have their total entries disqualified at the Promoter’s sole discretion.
4.3 Neither the Promoters, Sponsor nor any prize suppliers are responsible for any data or other information
related to this Competition that may be lost, damaged as a result of any computer software or hardware
malfunction. Any issues occurring as a result of computer / server/ software problems will be rectified as
quickly as possible.
4.4 If any entries are deemed at the Promoter’s final discretion to be made via “scripting”, those entries will be
deemed invalid and will not be accepted.
4.5 In the event that an element the prize outlined in Clause 5.1, below is, for any reason, cancelled, postponed or
not available, that element(s) of the prize will be considered as forfeited and no cash alternative offer will be
granted in lieu of the part of the prize. If the Winners forfeits a specified element, no cash alternative offer will
be granted in lieu of the part of the Prize.
5. PRIZES
5.1 There will be one (1) major prize winner (“Major Prize Winner”) who will receive the Major Prize and two (2)
runner-up winners (“Runner Up Prize Winners”) who will receive one (1) Runner Up Prize. Major Prize and
Runner Up Prize as detailed in clause 5.2 (“Major Prize” and “Runner Up Prize” together, the “Prizes”).

Total maximum value of the prize package for all 3 Prizes is AU$32,922 (inclusive of GST). Prize value is based upon
the recommended retail prices at the time of publishing (inclusive of GST). The Promoter accepts no responsibility
for the change in Prize value between now and the ultimate date of which a Prize is taken.
5.3 The first person drawn will win the ‘Trip to Milan’ prize (“Trip to Milan Prize Winner”), the second and third
person drawn will win the ‘Perth Romeo & Juliet Staycation’ prize (“Romeo & Juliet Staycation Winner”). Dates
and times are subject to the Sponsor and availability.
5.4 Prizes cannot be exchanged, transferred (except at Promoters discretions) or traded for an alternative prize.
5.5 The Prize Winners must be 18 years or older.
5.6 Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions all other expenses related to the Prizes become the
responsibility of the Prize Winners and their nominated companions. All costs associated with the Prizes
which are not expressly stated in these terms and conditions to be included, including but not limited to
additional cost for food, beverage and transportation.
5.7 Once accommodation is booked and confirmed it is non-changeable. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may
be required from each Prize Winner at check-in to the hotel, for incidental charges.
5.8 Flights leave from the designated airports only, subject to flight availability and return flight must arrive to the
same designated airport.
5.9 Travel arrangement in Perth or the destination to and from the Airport do not form part of the Prize and are the
responsibility of the Prize Winners.
5.10 The ‘Trip to Milan’ prize includes GST and taxes included in the price of the ticket. Unless otherwise stated, the
Prize does not include travel insurance, passports, visas, meals, taxes not included in the price of the ticket,
ground transportation, flights or any other costs of a personal nature.
5.11 The ‘Romeo & Juliet Staycation’ prize includes GST included in the price of the booking and tickets. Unless
otherwise stated, the Prize does not include meals or any other costs of a personal nature.
5.12 The Prizes will be distributed by the Promoter within a reasonable time period. Once the Prize is accepted, the
Prize Winners must deal directly with Stage and Screen Australia, West Australian Ballet and Singapore
Airlines to book their prize within 1 month of acceptance. Should there be any specific requests, queries,
concerns or complications prize winners must deal directly with prize suppliers. In the event a Prize Winner
does not accept the Prize, then the entire Prize will be forfeited by the Winner and cash will not be awarded in
lieu of the Prize.
5.13 The ‘Trip to Milan’ Prize Winner and their travelling companion must travel on the same flights as each other.
5.14 Flight tickets for the ‘Trip to Milan’ Prize Winner and their travelling companion will be issued electronically and
are valid for the flight booked on Singapore Airlines only.
5.15 Flights and accommodation are subject to availability at the time of booking and are non-transferable and
cannot be exchanged for other destinations. Any alterations to confirmed flight and/or accommodation details
will be at the expense of the Prize Winners. All accommodation, flight and airport Prize elements are subject to
Sponsors and other prize suppliers booking condition and availability. The Trip to Milan Prize is valid for two
adults travelling together.

5.16 All Prizes must be booked by 19 May 2025. Travel must be completed as offered between 19 September 2024
and 19 May 2025.Tickets are valid for a stay away of no more than three months. Ticket validity cannot be
extended. Any travel not utilised by 19 May 2025 will be deemed null and void. Tickets are not transferable.
5.17 Air tickets are available on the regular scheduled services of the airline and are subject to seasonal embargos.
Blackout periods apply during all Australian public holidays and Australian school holiday periods, flight and
accommodation cannot be taken during these periods. Flight itinerary may have to be adjusted depending on
the airline’s departure city and their current flight schedule. Loyalty points are not available on the Prize, and
the Trip to Milan Prize Winner and their travelling companions cannot upgrade any Prize using any Points. Once
airfares are booked and confirmed the Trip to Milan Winner cannot make any changes.
5.18 All travel is subject to availability at the time of booking, the fare rules quoted at the time of booking and the
Conditions of Carriage. No compensation or alternative travel plans will be arranged should the Prize Winner
and/ or their companion miss their outbound or return flights or fail to meet any check in requirements for
any reason. These costs will be the responsibility and expense of the winner and travel companions.
5.19 Each hotel booking is not transferable – it is redeemable only by the person whose name is stated on the
booking.
5.20 Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions, all other expenses related to the Prize become the
responsibility of the Prize Winner and their nominated travel companions. Subject to the prize stipulated in
clause 2.2, the prize winner and their travel companions are responsible for all expenses including but not
limited to travel insurance, visas, passports, items of a personal nature, meals, laundry, telephone calls,
additional nights or upgrades etc. transfers, room amenity charges, selected beverages, incidentals, mini-bar,
in-room video, room service, telephone calls, activities, energy surcharges, services charges, passports and all
other ancillary costs.
5.21 The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, condition or other issues that may exist at any
destination. Local travel advice can be obtained from various sources including government offices. Compliance
with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of each Prize Winner and companion.
Prize travel is subject to the service provider’s terms and conditions.
5.22 In the event that an element of a Prize outlined above is, for any reason cancelled, postponed or not available,
that element of the Prize will be considered as forfeited and no cash alternative offer will be granted in lieu of
the part of the Prize. The Prize Winners will have no claim to the element of the Prize that is no longer available.
5.23 The Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash. Any part of the Prize not redeemed will be forfeited. In the event
that a Prize is not utilized before expiration, the Prize will be forfeited and no compensation will be provided to
the Prize Winners.
5.24 The Prize Winners and any nominated companion/s must participate in and co-operate with all reasonable
media editorial requests, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, and the Prize
Winners grant the Promoters and Sponsor a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use such footage and
photographs in all media worldwide and the Winners will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
5.25 The Prize Winners and their nominated companion agree they will not sell or otherwise provide their story
and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.
5.26 It is a condition of accepting a Prize that the Prize Winners and their nominated companion must comply with
all the conditions of use of the Prize provider and the Promoter’s requirements.
5.27 Conditions of entry to venues and use of Prize are subject to the Prize provider’s terms and conditions.
5.28 The Prize Winners must provide valid identification to the Promoter upon the Promoters request. Failure to
do so will result in the forfeiture of the Prize at the Promoter’s sole discretion.
5.29 Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the Prize.
5.30 Subject to state permit authority restrictions, the Promoter may reasonably amend these terms and
conditions, orally or in writing, in its absolute discretion.
5.31 Dates and schedules of the prizes availability are not under the Promoter’s control and are subject to change.
The Promoter takes no responsibility for any date or schedule changes, and the winner forfeits the prize in the
event that utilisation of the prize is not possible due to changed dates.
6. HOW TO WIN
6.1 There will be three (3) Prize Winners randomly drawn from all valid entries. A valid entry consists of the
completion of the entry form on htttps://www.thewest.com.au/milan, including but not limited to provision
of all accurate personal details. Only one entry per person, per email is valid. The draw will be held at
Newspaper House, 50 Hasler Rd, Osborne Park 6017 WA on: Monday 19 August 2024 at 09:00 AWST (“Prize
Draw Date”).
6.3 Entries must be received within the Competition Period.

6.4 Entries must include all requested contact details and meet requirements of entry under 6.1 to be eligible to
win a Prize.
6.2 A member of the Seven West Media (WA) Marketing department will contact the Prize Winners by email
advising the Prize Winners of their prize. The Prize Winner’s entry details may be published on
http://www.thewest.com.au/milan.
6.3 The Prizes will be supplied to the Prize Winners via a travel agent. Prize Winners will be supplied with a contact
email address to book and claim their prizes.
6.4 In the event a Prize Winner does not notify Promoter by reply email that they accept their Prize before 5:00pm
on Wednesday 21 August 2024 the Prize will be forfeited, an unclaimed Prize draw will take place and a new
Prize Winner will be drawn.
6.5 The Promoter’s decision on all matters related to any aspect of this promotion is final and the Promoter will
not enter into correspondence regarding the result.
6.5 The Promoter may in its absolute discretion deem entries invalid subsequently to a Prize Winner being
notified or a Prize Winner’s name being announced if it is discovered that the Prize Winner did not enter the
Competition in accordance with these terms and conditions. In these circumstances, an additional draw will
be conducted.
6.6 It is a condition of accepting the prize that the Prize Winners (and any companions) may be required to sign
a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
7. NO LIABILITY
7.1 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the
Promoter’s ability to proceed with the Competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms
and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of
God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the
Competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to state government
legislation.
7.2 Promoter and the Sponsor are not responsible for any costs associated with Prize collection.
7.3 Promoter, Sponsor, and their associated agencies and companies will take no responsibility for prizes
damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.
7.4 Promoter, Sponsor, and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure,
accident, injury, illness, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur:
a) during the entry process or the draw;
b) in the participation, acceptance or use of any element(s) of the Prize;
c) as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
d) due to the broadcast of any program relating to the Competition or the publication of any material,
including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other
person; or
e) arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any telephone network, internet
connection, thewest.com.au website outage or lines or mobile communications network related to or
resulting from participation in this promotion.
7.6 Promoter, Sponsor, prize suppliers, associated agencies and companies assumes no responsibility for any
error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line
failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take
any action that may be available, subject to state government legislation.
7.7 If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including but not limited
to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of
the Promoter, Sponsor and/ or prize provider which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness,
integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to
disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to
cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, subject to state government legislation.
7.8 By entering the Competition, and by collecting a prize, Prize Winners acknowledges and accept that driving,
travel and any other activities comprising the Prize, are inherently dangerous and may result in death, injury,
incapacity, damage to property or other losses. The Promoter and Sponsor are not responsible for any acts
of god, such as adverse weather conditions or industrial action or civil commotion that may occur whilst the
prize winner is travelling.

7.9 These terms and conditions are in addition to terms applicable to supply of components of the Prize, including
terms applicable to entry and use of the Prize.
7.10 Regardless of anything else in these conditions, nothing in these conditions excludes, restricts or modifies the
application of Consumer Laws or the exercise of any rights or remedies you may have under Consumer Laws
where any such exclusion, restriction or modification would contravene Consumer Laws. “Consumer Laws”
refers to the Australian Consumer Law under Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth),
and any applicable similar consumer protection laws in the states and territories of Australia that mirror the
provisions of the Australian Consumer Law.
8. PROMOTER’S DETAILS
8.1 The Promoter is West Australian Newspapers Ltd (ABN 98 008 667 632) of 50 Hasler Road, Osborne Park WA
6017.
8.2 Sponsors include Singapore Airlines, Western Australian Ballet and Intercontinental Perth City Centre.
Entry details remain the property of the Promoter. Western Australian Newspapers Limited and its related
entities (“WAN”) is collecting your personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this
Competition, including for the purpose of identifying and notifying winners and providing winners’ details
to sponsors/s and prize supplier/s for prize fulfilment and understanding our audiences. WAN will otherwise
handle your personal information in accordance with WAN’s Privacy Policy which is available on our website
at http://www.sevenwestmedia.com.au/privacy-policies (and which contains information regarding how
you can access your personal information, correct it and/ or make a complaint about our handling of your
personal information). By providing your personal information below, you agree to the terms of the Privacy
Policy. Without limiting the foregoing, WAN may disclose the entrant’s personal information to its related
entities, business partners and external service providers for research and profiling purposes as well as
other purposes reasonably related to the entrant’s relationship with WAN. In addition, by entering this
competition, you consent to WAN using your personal information for the purpose of WAN and its related
entities sending you information regarding programs, products and services available through them and/

8.3 If an Entrant does not want their details to be used for the purposes stated in clause 8.2. they must write to
West Australian Newspapers Ltd by email to privacy@seven.com.au and West Australian Newspapers
Limited will ensure that the details are not used for that purpose.
8.4 It is a condition of entry that all Prize Winners agree to have their name, photo, video and suburb published
for publicity purposes if required. By participating in this competition, participants signify their acceptance of
all conditions and the requirement to participate in promotional activity if required.
8.5 The Sponsor is the West Australian Ballet Company (ABN 55 023 843 043) of 134 Whatley Crescent
Maylands WA 6051.
