Otto & Astrid are Berlin’s (self-appointed) Prince and Princess of Art Rock and Europop. They are super musicians and unparalleled performers of stellar proportions - gigantic and explosive. Tragically orphaned as children, the brother and sister duo ran away from their small rural hometown and ordinary childhood, to Berlin, and knew instantly they had found a place among the counterculture, a home in a squat - and the solace and saviour of the rock ‘n’ roll music. They’ve toured all over the world rocking out at The Roxy in LA, Soho Theatre London, Joes Pub New York, Rurfestspiele Recklinghausen, The Kesselhaus Berlin, La Botanique in Brussels, Norwich and Norfolk Festival UK, Spoleto USA, Barrow Street Theatre New York, Sydney Arts Festival -Australia, Adelaide Cabaret Festival - Australia,The Cultch Vancouver, Centaur Theatre Montreal and the Ann Arbor Summer Festival to name a few. They’ve visited Edinburgh many times with their shows; Super Musician, Kunst Rock (Art Rock) and Eurosmash! They have also presented their cult hit show, Otto & Astrid’s Haus Party (presented by The Melbourne International Comedy Festival since 2009 at their Festival Club), twice before at Edinburgh Fringe. Their work has been nominated for twelve Greenrooom awards (Production, Original Songs, Artistes’ and Writing), winning Best Production for Cabaret twice in Melbourne, Australia. They have also been nominated at Edinburgh Fringe for the prestigious Total Theatre Award and the London Time Out Soho Theatre Award.
