You and three mates can experience one of Australia’s best wineries with a private tour, wine masterclass, four-course long lunch and more.

A day trip to the Yarra Valley is a classic activity over summer. It’s just an hour’s drive from Melbourne – or a 25-minute flight via helicopter. And as far as must-visit wineries go, Oakridge Wines is always high on the list.

The winery is famous for its pinot noirs and chardonnays, but its fine-dining restaurant is just as much a drawcard. New head chef Daniel Snooks has recently revamped the menu and is celebrating locally grown produce from the kitchen garden and nearby farmers.

Next is a private, in-depth wine masterclass. Choose between a journey through world-class chardonnay, including back vintages and new releases to compare, or an exploration of the highly acclaimed single block wines from the 864 range.

You’ll also be treated to a four-course lunch with matched wines in Oakridge’s beautiful dining room. The menu is ever-changing but currently includes crispy Jerusalem artichokes topped with parmesan and truffle honey; duck served alongside a puree or parsnips; and calamari with smoked celeriac, pickled kohlrabi and a toasted yeast sauce.

And before the helicopter arrives to fly you back to Melbourne, you’ll each be given a bottle of wine to take home.
