SYNOPSIS:
From acclaimed director Jacques Audiard (Rust and Bone) comes a gripping, hot Oscar contender that’s taking the world by storm! Starring Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez, and Karla Sofía Gascón, this film isn’t just a story—it’s a profound journey of transformation. Cannes 2024: Jury Prize Winner & Best Actress! With an evocative score, Emilia Perez delivers a powerful tale of ambition and identity.
Overqualified and undervalued, Rita is a lawyer at a large firm that is more interested in getting criminals off the hook than bringing them to justice. One day, she is given an unexpected way out, when cartel leader Manitas hires her to help him withdraw from his business and realise a plan he has been secretly preparing for years: to become the woman he has always dreamt of being.
