We’ve been part of your creative journey for 60 years — and now it’s time to celebrate!

To mark this milestone of 60 Years of Eckersley’s Art & Craft, we are launching the inaugural Eckersley’s Art & Craft Prize 2025, with a total prize pool of $25,000.

Additionally, there will be a prestigious group exhibition for the finalists and winners at Hazelhurst Arts Centre, Sydney, in Spring 2025.

We’re looking to showcase incredible contemporary art from across Australia. Entries will be judged by a panel of esteemed guest judges with extensive knowledge and experience across the art industry. We are accepting all types of 2D and 3D artworks made with analogue art materials.

You can submit up to 5 artworks. Each artwork submission is $35 AUD.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

1. The Eckersley’s Art & Craft Art Prize (“Prize”) is an art competition administered by Eckersley’s Art & Craft.

2. One Prize will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place : a. 1st Place ($20,000) b. 2nd Place ($4000) c. 3rd Place ($1000)

3. Entry to the Prize is open to all persons, aged 18 years and over, residing within Australia for at least a minimum of six months immediately prior to the close of entry to the Prize.
4. Employees of Eckersley’s Art & Craft, Jasco Pty Ltd, Judges, and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
ENTRY
5. The competition will run until 5pm on the 31st July 2025.
6.Internet access is required to enter the competition.
7. A non-refundable entry fee of $35.00 (GST inclusive) for each work submitted must be paid upon entry.
8. All sections of the entry form must be completed to be eligible. Submissions are via the online entry form only.
9. There is a limit of 5 submissions per Entrant, the entry fee applies for each submission.
10. We are accepting all forms of 2D & 3D artworks made using analogue materials. We are not accepting photography, videography, sound art, performance art, architectural designs, NFTs, fully digital and AI artworks.
11. Each entry is to be accompanied by one work image as a JPEG, PNG, GIF or TIFF file, up to 3MB.
12. Each entry is to be accompanied by a work statement of a maximum of 500 characters in length.
13. Entrants are responsible for any and all expenses that they incur in entering or as a prize winner or a finalist. Entrants will not be reimbursed regardless of whether or not they are selected as a prize winner or a finalist.
14. Where required by law, the Entrant warrants that they have obtained the written consent of all persons whose likeness appears in a work submitted to the Prize. Where information is disclosed about any person in the work statement, the Entrant must also obtain permission for that information to be used in conjunction with the work. Where a person is not able to legally give consent (for example, for reasons of age or administration), entrants are required to obtain the consent of someone who is able to give consent on their behalf. Prize winners and finalists are required to provide written evidence of consent.
15. There is no specified theme or subject for any section of the Prize.
16. Work must be the original work of the Entrant and not infringe any copyright, moral right or other rights of any person.
17. Works must have been completed in the years of 2023, 2024, 2025.
18. Work must not have been previously won any awards.
19. Prize winners and finalist artworks that are in exhibition will not be for sale.
20. The maximum size for two-dimensional artworks is 100 x 100cm, and for three-dimensional it is 70 x 70 x 70cm.Maximum weight 40kg.
21. By completing the entry form and making the work available, the Entrant warrants that the work is the sole and unencumbered property of the Entrant.
22. By entering the Eckersley’s Art & Craft Prize, you give permission for Eckersley’s Art & Craft and Hazelhurst Arts Centre to use images of your work for marketing purposes, including but not limited to, their respective websites, social media and newsletters. Your artwork images may also be used by the press for promotional purposes and/or by third party partners to promote this exhibition and future iterations of The Eckersley’s Art & Craft Prize.
SELECTION OF FINALISTS
23. Images of works will be viewed by the Judges who will select the prize winners and finalist to be included in the exhibition and the 1st, 2nd &3rd Prize winners. The decisions of the Judges shall be final, and no communication will be entered into regarding such decisions, inclusive of feedback.
24. Prize winners and finalists will be notified via phone and email.
PRIZE WINNERS & FINALIST WORKS
25. In entering the competition each prize winner & finalist accepts that, if they are selected to proceed to the exhibition stage, their selected artworks must be available and be delivered for physical display.
26. Prize winners & finalists works must be delivered to Eckersley’s Art & Craft, 1-5 Commercial rd, Kingsgrove, NSW,2208 by August 29th 2025. Artworks must be delivered during opening Monday- Friday ,9am-5pm. Eckersley’s Art & Craft will transfer the works to & from Hazelhurst Arts Centre.
27. If selected as a prize winner or a finalist artwork should be packed in clean and secure packaging. Works need to be labelled with the artists name, artwork title, year, medium, dimension and contact details (email and mobile phone). Works need to be ready for display, with d-rings attached to canvases and framed works. Unframed works on paper may be pinned. If the install is complex instructions and fittings need to be provided, as will any additional stands. Eckersley’s reserves the right to alter a work’s hanging system to suit Hazelhurst Gallery hanging system.
28. The greatest possible care will be taken of all work submitted; however, Eckersley’s Art & Craft does not accept any liability for the loss or damage of any work howsoever caused. Work shall at all times be at the sole risk of the Finalist.
29. Every effort will be made to exhibit all prize winner and finalist works; however, Eckersley’s Art & Craft is not bound to exhibit any entry. The exhibition of works shall be at the absolute discretion of Eckersley’s Art & Craft, which may take into account the recommendation of the judges. No reasons will be given, or communication entered into with regard to the judge’s recommendation or Eckersley’s Art & Craft decision.
30. The prize winners and finalists shall be responsible for covering all costs associated with the shipment of their works to and from Eckersley’s Art &Craft, 1-5 Commercial Rd, Kingsgrove, NSW, 2208. Furthermore, it is the responsibility of the prize winners and finalist to arrange comprehensive insurance for their works, which shall include coverage for transit to and from Eckersley’s Art & Craft as well as transit to and from the Hazelhurst Arts Centre.
COPYRIGHT
31. Prize winners and finalists must allow use of the work and work statement by the Prize and the Hazelhurst Arts Centre in all media in perpetuity. All necessary acknowledgements of authorship will be duly made. Copyright of the work and work statement will remain the property of the Prize winners and finalist
JUDGES
32. The Prize winners and finalists are selected by the Judges. The decisions of the Judges shall be final, and no communication will be entered into regarding such decisions, inclusive of feedback.
33. The Prize winners and finalists will be notified via phone, email, and published on Eckersley's website, social media and newsletters.
COLLECTION OF WORK
34. Following close of the exhibition, works must be collected from Eckersley’s Art & Craft, 1-5 Commercial Rd, Kingsgrove, NSW,2208 between Thursday 25th and Friday 26th September during the opening hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm by the Finalist or their agent.
